January 22, 200916 yr Nice win. I'll be honest, I thought they would lose this game. Portland is really tough especially at home. Gotta will ourselves to victory the next few weeks while our starters are injured...tonight highlights the value of Mo Williams.
January 22, 200916 yr Wally is going to be gone. I heard they offered Brad Miller straight up for Wally, and Ferry declined as of now...saying he wants Mike Miller. He may revisit Brad though. I would like Mike Miller from 2008, not the injured 2009 version. Also.. we have plenty of guards, we don't need another swingman!

I would like Mike Miller from 2008, not the injured 2009 version. Also.. we have plenty of guards, we don't need another swingman! Agree...I had Mike Miller on my fantasy team...I was forced to drop him. Injuries have been a part of it, but he's not even starting on a crappy Minnesota team anymore. I am not sure I would trade Wally though. One hopes the benefit of Z's injury is Hickson and Jackson can contribute key minutes in May and June due to increased playing time in January and February. Wally's allure in trade value is his expiring contract. That asset is just as valuable to the Cavs if he stays on the roster as it is to any another team if they trae for him. I'd rather sign a free agent in the off season than trade Wally for either of the Miller boys. Of course, this is all contingent on Z returning healthy.
January 22, 200916 yr Wally w/10 bounds yesterday and knocked down open shots. No hurry to throw this guy out. At the end of the year we can drop him and his huge salary then pick up a better free agent instead of someone elses trade bait. Neither Mike or Brad Miller are anything to get excited about.
January 22, 200916 yr I like what Wally adds to the team, but in today's NBA, expiring contracts are gold.
January 23, 200916 yr i just noticed this since i'm going to see the pretenders next week -- check out chrissie hynde's tee in the promo pics - ha!   :banger:
January 25, 200916 yr Anyone catch the awesome game last night? If not LeBron made a buzzer beater and we won! It was an awesome game.
January 25, 200916 yr i wish. i just saw the score this afternoon and that's what i figured. ha. very good!
January 26, 200916 yr We won last night in Utah. 3 straight wins all on the road in the west! We play terrible Sacramento and then at Orlando. Should be a good game versus Orlando.
January 26, 200916 yr It looks like Mike Brown will be joining LeBron as the Eastern conference head coach. The coaches are selected by best winning percentage through February 1st, with Doc Rivers of Boston not able to win this year because you cannot coach two years in a row. Cleveland has an .810 winning percentage vs. Orlando at .767. Although, a slip-up verse the Kings could make the Orlando game the deciding factor for the coach.
January 26, 200916 yr I haven't followed the All Star selections too closely. Is Lebron the only one to rep the Cavs? If so, that is flat-out wrong for such a good team. But if you watch the national media coverage of the Cavs, you might think Lebron and a bunch of scrubs play for this team. But if you watch the national media coverage of the Cavs, you might think Lebron and a bunch of scrubs play for this team. the media has warmed to this team. Mo gets a lot of news hits and so does Sideshow Bob. JJ Hickson gets love as well. It's not like Cleveland is a small market.
January 26, 200916 yr Reserves have yet to be named, but I think Mo has a chance to be named a reserve guard. Probably competing with Devin Harris, Jameer Nelson, and Joe Johnson for the guard spots.
January 26, 200916 yr Reserves have yet to be named, but I think Mo has a chance to be named a reserve guard. Probably competing with Devin Harris, Jameer Nelson, and Joe Johnson for the guard spots. Jameer Nelson is a lock.
January 26, 200916 yr Although, a slip-up verse the Kings could make the Orlando game the deciding factor for the coach. We aren't going to slip-up verses the dismal kings. Remember, we are home from the west coast trip.
January 28, 200916 yr Mo went off last night. That was insane. Wally, Sasha and Sideshow Bob you need to step up your game. Streaks The Longest Home Winning Streaks 44-Chicago, March 30, 1995-April 4, 1996 (7 games in 1994-95; 37 games in 1995-96) 31-Boston, Dec. 10, 1985-April 13, 1986 What are our chances to win 31 home games?
January 28, 200916 yr Sasha had a decent game. Young Mr. Gibson needs to pick up his game though, I believe he didn't have a point until the fourth quarter. I was at the Q last night and Mo just couldn't miss last night. Does Wally always limp around like that? I know he has knee problems but he looked like he was actually was in a lot of pain.
January 28, 200916 yr ^I would say pretty good. Does that include last years 3 playoffs games against Boston? If so, we have 24 straight home wins in the Q. Fans who have gone to the Q havent seen the cavs lose since last April...isnt that nuts? I would say obviously the Lakers are our only big roadblock to coasting through february...but you know everyone will be up and gunning for revenge in that game, to shut up all the media who drool all over that lakers team

Does Wally always limp around like that? I know he has knee problems but he looked like he was actually was in a lot of pain. I forgot about Boobie. Kstay2...where you at? Predictions please!
January 28, 200916 yr Boobie has been a disappointment in terms of consistency.. he's too streaky to be leaned upon right now. He's shown flashes of being a good player, but I'm beginning to think that what we see now is what we'll get out of him, I'm questioning that "jump" into stardom everyone has predicted for him. The home win streak is nice, but in the long run, I could care less about it. Winning at home is EXTREMELY important, but in the long run, winning on the road is just as important. The key that I like about the team this year, is for the most part, they are beating the teams they should beat, and doing it easily. As for Wally, everyone keeps talking about the chemistry the team has (which is very important), but if you could get another big who can defend and shoot (Brad Miller popping the three last night anyone?), would you prefer that or Wally in the playoffs verse Dwight Howard, KG, Rasheed, Gasol/Bynum (hopefully)?
January 28, 200916 yr I posted on the mirrors in the mens bathroom. The guys that work for me hate LeBron. Golden State guard Monta Ellis found out why one player compares LeBron James to "a brick wall." Folks pick up your SI this week. It should have a subtitle as the "cleveland" issue as lots of sports eyes were on the city.
February 1, 200916 yr Like MTS said, Sports Illustrated has LeBron James on its most recent cover. The inside story is about how good his game is currently and how much he is still improving. Not exactly breaking news, sure. But still an interesting insight into an elite NBA player and his work to keep improving. I thought the most interesting item was that until LeBron had Lasik eye surgery about one year ago, his vision was sub-par. That's scary! The Power of LeBron By Chris Ballard, Sports Illustrated January 27, 2009 "LeBron's powerful game has grown along with his physique. He outweighs centers and outruns guards. He is getting bigger, stronger and smarter - he even sees better. To appreciate the ways in which Cavaliers star LeBron James is evolving, first you have to break him down." February 3, 200916 yr 37-9...Wow...We made it through that west coast trip without knicks and scars...We managed the PIstons and now we just have to keep up the intensity as Boston will start perhaps the hardest possible three weeks anyone can have. The cavs biggest threat to losing home court comes on Sunday...win that and the media will start talking even more about breaking Larry Birds home record.
February 3, 200916 yr I'll be at the Cavs at Knicks game tomorrow night, can't wait to see LeBron light up the Garden so I can talk shit to all these NY shitheads..
February 3, 200916 yr Please throw some Sh1t at them for me, too. Lebron will not go somewhere that doesnt play defense...the country just needs to know that now...oh, and Mark Dantonis teams never play defense. You will NEVER EVER see Kobe Bryant score 61 against the cavs...but with the knicks it was like a hot knife through butter because they dont play D
February 3, 200916 yr ha -even the serious knicks fans don't believe lebron would ever play for these knicks. most knick fans are pulling for the cavs to go to the finals. and watch for at least lebron to get standing o's at the garden. i mean honestly, i think the ny'ers get just as much out of slamming their own teams when they suck as they do gloating when they win. as for the sillier, dummy-er ny fans, well...you can't help but just laugh at'em.

Don't tell that to the idiots in my office who are life long Knicks fans. They are worse than us when it come to the Browns.
February 4, 200916 yr ANOTHER RECORD!! http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/02/cavaliers_ride_hot_first_quart.html Cavaliers ride hot first quarter to 23rd home win by Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer Reporter Tuesday February 03, 2009, 9:25 PM CLEVELAND --- The Cavaliers had one of their best first quarters of the season Tuesday night against Toronto. The next two quarters weren't so hot, but the Cavs rode that 37-15 start to an inevitable 101-83 victory over the Raptors for their 23rd home victory without a loss this season.
February 4, 200916 yr Only if Boston could lose...grrr....we need that homecourt...itll make all the difference.
February 4, 200916 yr If the cavs can get homecourt throughout the whole playoffs we may be in for a very special time in June. Not to mention all the $$ that will be spent in ctown for the games @ the Q.
February 4, 200916 yr Oh man I can't wait to talk sh!t tonight.. I'm already giving the business to my staff. They along with their beloved Knicks are going down! They had a collage with Lebron biting, Z's bad ankle and delontes cast all over the floor of my office. I just printed off a picture of Isiah, Marbury and Eddy Curry & his driver! >:D The kids havent gotten over my "milkbone dog biscuits in the mail" stunt after the Giants loss to the Browns. I'm so mean! LOL
February 4, 200916 yr unless they are laker or celtic fans (or can really talk up their team like say a serious detroit or san antonio fan), your knick-crazed coworkers fall into the sillier, dummy-er type fan if they are trying to talk smak about the cavs. most serious knicks fans have jumped on the cavs bandwagon...if only because of lebron or because they want someone to beat out boston. in fact its so bad it would almost be funny if orlando got thru to the finals. err, almost! i just hope everybody gets and stays healthy by then. it's going to take the full team effort to beat the lakers.

I totally agree, but you know how the native NY'ers feel about their teams.
February 5, 200916 yr This was one ugly game. We came out like World Champs! Then the JV team took over in the second quarter. Wally & Ben, wake the f*ck up! The entire team MUST improve their free throw shooting. The NY fans are disgusting pigs! Hey we got a "W".
February 5, 200916 yr it's going to take the full team effort to beat the lakers. Boston will be the toughest test. Mark my word right now, the winner of Boston/CLE will win it all. The lakers dont have the defensive intensity to win a 7 game series against Boston or Cleveland. You can have a sexy team and win a ton of games in the regular season out shooting everyone, but that wont fly in the playoffs...look at LAL scores all year, I would say a mojority are in the 100's. You cant hope to outshoot everyone in the playoffs...they may not even get past the Spurs (if they are healthy). BTW, Lebron...WOW...the second highest point total ever for someone who had a triple double...what he did is just filthy.
February 6, 200916 yr The Lakers arrived in town late last night. They are here for like three days. First one to see and take a picture of Kobe wins.
February 6, 200916 yr The Lakers arrived in town late last night. They are here for like three days. First one to see and take a picture of Kobe wins. ummm.... lets not and say we did! :P I'm glad they won, they might be at ease and we can keep the streak alive. This should be a great game!
February 6, 200916 yr The Lakers arrived in town late last night. They are here for like three days. First one to see and take a picture of Kobe wins. Hang out at the Ritz bar...that's where they stay. And here's to the best winning percentage in the East!
February 6, 200916 yr NBA took away LeBron's Triple-double, they gave credit to Ben Wallace for one of his ten rebounds.
February 9, 200916 yr In two meetings now, Phil Jackson has shown how much better of a coach he is than Mike Brown. Cavs had first-half leads in both games only get their asses handed to them in the second half. Jackson made half-time adjustments twice. Brown failed to anticipate adjustments twice. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
February 9, 200916 yr damn what a dissapointing game...i dont think the lakers are that much better. i agree with the jackson point - i mean the guy does have 9 rings
February 9, 200916 yr the cavs missed west more than the lakers missed bynum. delonte will be a real key vs that team and so will a healthier z. everyone will need to be 100% healthy to have any chance to beat out the lakers in the finals.
February 9, 200916 yr ugh im so upset. I do not want to go to work tomorrow! I mean, it's one loss. The Celts lost as well. We'll get a few days off after the AS game. Hopefully we can start the second half on fire.
February 9, 200916 yr while I don't think anyone is going to argue that Jackson is a better coach than Brown... don't underestimate the loss of Sasha yesterday. We are now down to our THIRD string shooting guard. In addition without Terrance Kinsey (who would have ever Kinsey would have any worth), that left us with almost no back court rotation. And it made us extremely vunerable defensively. It forced LeBron to stay on Kobe the rest of the game (there is absolutely no way you can put wally the statue on kobe), which means Lamar Odom was left to be defended by either Wally or Ben both of whom are about as fast as slugs... and we see how that worked out. I think more than anything else some severe match up deficiencies did us in. We really need to get healthy.
February 9, 200916 yr f*ck. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/02/cleveland_cavaliers_guard_sash.html Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sasha Pavlovic to miss 4-6 weeks with ankle injury by Brian Windhorst / Plain Dealer reporter Monday February 09, 2009, 2:01 PM INDEPENDENCE -- The Cavaliers will be without Sasha Pavlovic for 4-6 weeks after the guard suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's home loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Pavlovic underwent an MRI exam today. He suffered the injury to his right ankle in the first quarter Sunday when he landed awkwardly. He did not return to the game...
February 9, 200916 yr Sasha is a walking injury. This common occurrence for him should not surprise anyone.
February 9, 200916 yr ^Anyone notice how the Cavs never try to get an extra possession at the end of a quarter? They could have the ball with 40 seconds and refuse to take a quick shot in order to get the ball back.
February 10, 200916 yr ^Anyone notice how the Cavs never try to get an extra possession at the end of a quarter? They could have the ball with 40 seconds and refuse to take a quick shot in order to get the ball back. That drives me nuts. They're lazy about the clock. Other times they'll use up a ton of shot clock selecting between 5 different long-range jump shots.
