With Shaquille O’Neal (l.) now his teammate, LeBron James may have even more of a reason to stay in Cleveland and not leave Cavaliers for Knicks should he become a free agent.

The Knicks will have to defy the odds if they want to sign LeBron James next summer.

A Las Vegas bookmaker has installed the Cleveland Cavaliers as a 2-5 favorite to re-sign James, who can become an .unrestricted free agent on July 1. According to Bodog.com, the odds of James joining the Knicks next summer are 9-4.

James remains noncommittal about his future, and a majority of league executives believes that he won't leave Cleveland for the Knicks, a franchise that has suffered through eight straight losing seasons.

IT'S GAMEDAY BABY...WOOOOOOOOO

Can't wait till tonight's game...Fingers crossed on a Cleveland win...haven't seen that in a while!!

Great start! But now they couldn't hit the IX Center from 10 feet away.

Yeah.  This one stinks.  Its only one game, but now we have to hear how great Boston is for the next three months.  I hate that.  They will be hard to get through this year.

^Boston's old.  Someone will get hurt.  I'm not worried about them.  It's a healthy Orlando team that concerns me.

And our bench concerns me -- again. There is a new mix of players on our bench so I'm not pushing the panic button after one game. But they couldn't hit the basket to save their life. I was also disappointed by the bench's lack of points in the paint. They need more penetration and energy. Yet no panicking.... No panicking....

They didn't play with any identity when Shaq was taken out in the 1st. I think they just have to get use to playing with each other once Brown figures out the  bench rotation. Mo does concern me. It seems he's carried whatever mess he caught in his head from the playoffs last year into this season. Why is Z still acting like a shooting guard on offense? I still haven't lost hope on Gibson and feel he can still turn it around if he can get some confidence back. What can you say about Delonte.   Take your meds because that  bi polar stuff only works for a couple of times then no one cares what reason you have for being a moron.

Are you serious?  Do you have any idea how a mental illness can affect someone??  I really don't think you do nor are qualified to make a statement like that.  That was below the belt and uncalled for.

I agree on Delonte.

I like Delonte and I'm glad the media has left him alone for the most part. I'm just sayin if he keeps messing up things will get a lot harder on him and it would be a shame.

"Do you have any idea how a mental illness can affect someone??"

Unfortunately, I know more than I want to know about it.

That makes two of us.  It's something I don't take lightly.

I was at the game last night.  Our starters outplayed their starters, but their bench murdered our bench.  However, once Powe gets healthy (hopefully by January) and if we get Delonte back, our rotation will be dramatically improved.  Powe will take over the 4th big man spot from Hickson and might even come off the bench before Z.  Delonte will either start or be the first guard off the bench.  We missed him last night bigtime.  Ray Allen absolutely abused Boobie and that was a major reason Boston made that from the end of the 1st through midway point of the 3rd quarter.  Delonte might be one of Allen's toughest matchups.

I just worry that the rumors of us possibly signing Antonio Daniels means the news is not good on Delonte.

One note about Boston is that KG looks very fragile out there.  Everytime he got hit, he was very slow to get up.  I doubt they will be able to keep him, Pierce, Allen and Sheed healthy all year.

That ironic, my family was down there and they said almost the same thing.

My brother said KG looked "scared".

Yeah, I noticed that KG was extremely slow to get up. I know the one time that he was on the floor under the net  and was slow to get up the TV cameras mic'd him and he was semi-angrliy shouting, "I am OK, I am OK" to somebody as if he was hurting but was to proud to admit it.

Welcome back Delonte!

Paul Pierce was dead on when he called West the "glue" of our squad.

^ oh i think we all know that, he is key!

delontes health a chronic issue, meaning it isnt going away, so i hope he takes care of himself and keeps regular with his treatment and therapy (unfortunately its typical that people quit treatment when they are feeling better, so then they inevitably crash and burn again -- i hope he doesn't go down that rollercoaster).

anyway, glad to have him back...no surpize its tied to the first win!

Delonte gets all the therapy he needs on the hardwood during the season.  What Ferry has to figure out is how to manage him during the off-season.  When he is playing, he is fine... more than fine from what I have heard as he is the class clown in the locker room.  Sure, he does still have his issues, but playing basketball and being around his teammates balances him out it seems.  The real problems manifest in the off-season when he has nothing better to do than make rap videos in a KFC drive-thru.

Delonte has been indicted!

yikes.jpg

Jail time unlikely.  Precedent points to a 7 game suspension from the league though if convicted.

the bulls had the right idea pushing an uptempo game along all night.

the worst part was seeing the cavs lose a tight finish, that's when i figured they should excel.

our boy chas barkley put the cavs below la, bos, orl and i think he said denver? what? no san antonio?!!

on the bright side parker looked good.

Jeremy Piven was at the game last night.  Front row seat right next to the Cavs' bench.  Shaq threw him over his shoulder and carried him onto the court during warmups.

^ and he seemed to be cheering for the Cavs, despite being from (or at least born) in Chicago (Evanston).  Wonder if he was in town specifically for the game?

I got the impression he was there at Shaq's invite.  Although it might have been LBJ considering that he did do a guest spot on the season finale.

Lebron needs to close games better.  He either goes right to the rim and hopes to get fouled or chucks up a three.  I love Lebron, but he doesnt close nearly as well as Jordan, Kobe or even Paul Pierce.  He needs to develop a pull-up (which im sure he already has)...last night for example, instead of going right to the rim, pull up from about 8 feet and hit that shot.  Im tired of not having a cold blooded assassin to end games.

I'll pass on your message tonight!  Go cavs!

Nice win...but im glad he isnt going back there...i know the media dictates this whole Lebron to NY circus, but any Cleveland fan cant be thrilled about what they hear when he is there.

The game was awesome for me!  I had all my CAVS gear one.  The idiot NYers can kiss my culo!  Good win, now only if I had voice....

Impressive win tonight, and IMO, very necessary. Hope tomorrow goes as well!

Nice win for the CAVS, they will need the confidence about playing in AMWAY if they have to go back there during the playoff. I only caught the 4th quarter but I read they were really moving the ball around on offense during the first half even with West out. Overall good news all around.

That was the best i have seen them play since the Atlanta series last year.  It seems like they are finguring out how to use each other...the movement off the ball was unreal and it lead to many lay-ups, dunks and open shots.  Orlando is in huge trouble is Jameer Nelson doesnt learn how to D up...people will be shooting over him all year.

9 points is so deceiving...that was a good old fashioned blowout.

Between these two teams (Cle and Orl), it comes down to who shoots the 3 better.  In the playoffs last year, the Magic torched us from behind the 3 point line.  The Cavs were on fire last night from behind the arc (10-14) and the final score doesn't tell the story because the Magic were never really in this one.  Orlando got handled last night... given they were on the 2nd night of a back-to-back and without two key players (Cavs were down one key player).  And while Shaq was far from spectacular last night, neither was Dwight Howard.  Last year, we had no one that could guard that guy and he ate us up on the inside.  Different story last night and it shows in the results.

Shaq doesnt need to be spectacular.  he needs to do exactly what he did.  His performance was spectacular based on what we need from him.  He got Howard our of the game and frustrated him.  Shaq doesnt even need to score, we have plenty of scorers....his 10 points is GRAVY because we have a guy downlow that they need to pay attention to.  I loved last nights win, it was very encouraging.

Nike's proposed new LeBron James mural causes a dust-up

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A 10-story image of a bare-chested and battle-ready LeBron James could use a more positive tone and a nod to Cleveland, design officials say.

Cleveland's design review committee this morning tabled a request from a local representative of the Nike Co. for a new banner to replace the one hanging from a Gateway office building, near The Q.

To qualify the statement.  If i white man had said it, then (some) people (of color) might feel it's racist.

The "scaly, armor texture" skin is the same concept Nike just used for Adrian Peterson's TV commercial for their Pro Combat line -

No need to qualify... that was my point.

City designers are cool to hot new LeBron James mural proposed for downtown

There is a picture of it on the site

CLEVELAND, Ohio --

LeBron James, 10 stories tall and bare-chested, could join the growing number of athletes who are baring more to build their brand.

But Cleveland design officials think the massive mural that James and Nike Inc. want downtown could use a more positive tone. And it should include a nod to Cleveland, they say.

Same link - just updated information with the actual pic that Nike wants up.

Basketball is combat worthy? Huh? Adrian  Peterson I understand,  Football is easily linked with warfare but basketball? I guess  I just like the old banner better, it reminds me of the "Jordan Dunk Logo" the new one is just LeBron standing in his skivvies...

(see George Carlins routine about Football vs Baseball)

"In football, the object is for the quarterback, otherwise known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his recievers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use the shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line."

HOW DID BROWN NOT PUT Z IN? IT IS A TRAVESTY!!

I was happy to see the blue and orange jerseys tonight.  Z had his night and it was part of a win.... all around good stuff.  Why do I love the Browns again?

Playing 24 minutes in a reserve role, West scored 14 of his season-high 21 points in a 29-0 first-half run to lead the streaking Cavaliers to a 101-86 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

NOTES: The Bucks played Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" as James and the Cavaliers were introduced, an apparent jab at the franchise because James can opt out of his contract at the end of this season and become a free agent.
