August 28, 200816 yr Did you happen to go to 'Ye Olde Mill' where they make Velvet Ice Cream? Nice pics!
August 28, 200816 yr http://www.velveticecream.com/mill/ye_olde_mill.asp It's a neat little place, although I don't think I have been there since I was little. Now I'm thinking I might have to take the wife over there for some freshly made ice cream.
August 28, 200816 yr One of our Uticas, anyway. Another Utica is in Warren County, near Lebanon. It is a placename at the intersection of Utica Rd and Old Route 122, near US 42. A now defunct railroad once went through 'our' Utica. And the Old Mill in the big Utica is a fun stopover.
August 28, 200816 yr ^The Village of Seven Mile in Butler County was also known as Utica for a time, but stayed with the Seven Mile name because of Ohio's other Uticas.

September 9, 200816 yr What a fascinating hamlet. Ohio's hand blown glass heritage never ceases to amaze.
September 11, 200816 yr Sweet-looking village. Was Utica a beneficiary of the gas boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Ohio and Indiana? That gave rise to a thriving glass industry throughout some parts of those states around the time that the plaque lists.
