Posted August 30, 200816 yr Produced and managed annually by Cleveland Public Art, this is easily my favorite summer festival. It brings together the most eclectic crowd - from the tourists from the West Side Market, to neighborhood yuppies and guppies to the elderly folks from Riverview housing, to you name it, it's there in every age, race, gender, creed, socio-economic status and orientation. The official PR from Cleveland Public Art: City Xpressions Street Art Festival celebrates urban and street art in its dynamic and eclectic forms. Inspired by the miles of graffiti exhibited along Cleveland's public transit routes, the festival brings aerosol and other street artists out of invisibility by providing a public space for the creation of their beautiful, controversial artworks. In its seventh year, City Xpressions continues to evolve with the voices of the artists leading the way. B-boy/B-girl breakdancing clips: Spoken word performance: And of course, the aerosol artists: The event is sponsored by Scion: Like most festivals there's always a group with petitions for one cause or another: Now THAT's a piece of equipment! Future breakdancers warming up the dance floor: Can he hear something we can't? ;-) The spoken word artists are introduced: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

August 31, 200816 yr Great event, some stunning photos. I've caught this a couple of times, and being a small-town old fart, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. There's so much positive energy there, and the diversity of the audience is a big plus.
August 31, 200816 yr Wow that looks like an awesome place to be. I love graffiti and I wish i was skilled enough to make it look good lol. And I envy that girl with the CANON  Camera and huge lens.

August 31, 200816 yr Nice shots. Love the dollar bill art. C-Dawg, that lady's thigh muscle looks just lovely to me. Nice equipment, indeed. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
August 31, 200816 yr was it well attended vs years past? the last shot says yes, but i'm not sure by the others. i am wondering if it's growing in popularity? Yes, it was hopping - just to clarify, I volunteer for Cleveland Public Art as an event photographer. That said, I left out a lot of photos that are great for grant/sponsorship proposals (but not so much photo threads on UO). clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
