Posted September 2, 200816 yr One of Northwest Ohio's more interesting, gritty small towns... (how many times can you find 'Corn City?!?')
September 2, 200816 yr Darn! I missed the Corn City Festival! I'll bet that was some shindig! Deshler must have seen quite a lot of railroad traffic in its day with that great brick tower and a depot situated to serve passenger trains on both lines where they crossed.
September 2, 200816 yr It's like an old TOD. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 3, 200816 yr Interesting photos....thanks! And by the way, I go to school in THE corn town LOL
September 4, 200816 yr ^The only reason I went to Deshler was because of this comment from chain: I mean in Hamilton/Warren county there about 5 places that are perfectly restored "Americana". Not to mention Waynesville and Washington Courthouse or Deshler. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,15066.msg249375.html#msg249375 Deshler wasn't the Americana I was expecting, but it was interesting enough that I don't regret dropping by.
September 9, 200816 yr this is the dorkiest welcome sign / revolving clock / veteran's memorial I've ever seen I wonder where Lacey Flick is today...
September 10, 200816 yr Wow, a Pennzoil station! I didn't think any of these existed anymore! (I believe the brand was bought by Shell a few years back.)
