Posted September 7, 200816 yr I don't have Obama winning only OH, nor do I have him winning all three. I think Obama needs to win at least two of three to win the electoral vote.
September 7, 200816 yr You can't ask for a vote without providing all the options. I personally think (with the highest hopes) that he wins all three.
September 8, 200816 yr Very interesting topic... My girlfriend told me on the phone tonight that there is an article in the Wall Street Journal about McCain campaining heavily in Michigan down the stretch. Sounds like he's trying to steal this Democrat stronghold and looking at the state polling it looks like he has a shot. It is for this reason that I think Obama only wins Pennsylvania.
September 8, 200816 yr ^I'm not sure about MI either but I still think it will go blue because I can't picture a red Michigan.

I can't either, as big as auto manufacturing is and the state of the economy. Very interesting topic... You have a girlfriend who reads the WSJ and digs political conversations?! Does she have any hot intellectual friends? ;)
September 8, 200816 yr I think that Obama will get both Pennsylvania and Michigan. Ohio and Indiana seem to be trending Democratic, but Indiana is further off than Ohio (thanks to Ohio's big cities). Ohio might end up being the closest race of all 50 states aside from Virginia. Obama can win without Ohio, but an Ohio win makes all those western states he's trying to swing unnecessary.
September 8, 200816 yr You have a girlfriend who reads the WSJ and digs political conversations?! Does she have any hot intellectual friends? ;) She's perfect... I know. If Obama wins Ohio then he'll have the election in hand imo. If McCain wins Ohio he still needs a little help. I think Ohio will, yet again, vote in favor of the next president.

I think Ohio will, yet again, vote in favor of the next president. I agree.... except I think WHICHEVER candidate wins Ohio will win the White House. If Obama wins Ohio, it is probably locked up in his favor. If McCain wins, Obama would have to pull off a miracle like turning N. Carolina blue.
September 9, 200816 yr From what I can tell, MI might be very close even though it's hard for me to wrap my head around a red Michigan. A most interesting scenario is the New Hampshire option where the country is split and the election comes down to how NH votes. That'd be an election night to remember.

That's why I like the idea of more liberal "creative class" transplants coming to Ohio's major cities from all over the US! Those decisions our mayors and city councils make could have a huge impact on the nation.
