September 9, 200816 yr That graphic makes nyc seem smaller. Those are some of the least populated states. I love Brooklyn :) I want to live there!!!!
September 9, 200816 yr ^ funny, i thought the opposite. i learned those states were a lot more populated than i had thought. probably because i rarely think of them. but then again i don't think of staten island either.
September 9, 200816 yr Anyone else think it's funny that Maine is the Bronx? I think approximate population is probably the only thing they have in common.
September 9, 200816 yr That graphic makes nyc seem smaller. Those are some of the least populated states. I thought that at first, too. But when you think of one city having the same population as 5 entire US states, it sounds a little bigger.

September 10, 200816 yr Think of all the electoral votes those states get for free, compared to the similar population in New York City.

Truthfully, it was a pretty cool place to grow up. Great neighborhood, I could run around in with no concerns. Had a park where we could play football / baseball, and a deli one block away. My elementary school was about a half mile away, so I could walk there and play basketball there in the afternoon. All my friends were in walking / biking distance. Saddest day of my little life to that point was when my folks decided to move upstate to an old farm. Talk about culture shock.
