The only damage I saw at Findlay Market was to the Leader Furniture building at it didn't appear to be too bad.  Just some burnt out and broken windows but the rest of it looked fine.

Here is a photo from Joe Wessels of the building to the right of Grammar's on fire:

Ugh.

Holy crap...hopefully nothing too serious.  I would really hate to lose any of those structures.

Yikes.

I wish I would have been around to witness the storm; I was on my way back from Chicago and reached Ohio just as the winds were dying down. Oxford is a mess, but at least most of Miami has power from backup generators.

There's lots of minor damage that could insidiously become major damage.  Lots of knocked out windows and roof damage that could mean the end to buildings owned by out-of-town landlords who aren't paying attention.

^

could 3cdc end up buying a lot of the properties for bargin prices due to damage for the out of towners who don't feel like messing with it?

^That is probably a very real possibility.  3CDC already owns like 30% of OTR and they just keep expanding their reach.

SOB. 600,000+ still without power, and this is of just 15 minutes ago. That hasn't decreased all day (fluctuated a lot but in that range).

I'll upload my photos in the evening from OTR.

I saw some photos of Northside and Price Hill on WOXY. I can't believe the storms took down a building by the old Alchemize Building and also knocked out most of the BP station at Glenway and Guerley. It's amazing in the most devastating of ways, it truly is.

3 Deutsche Evangelische St. Paulus Kirche, at 15th and Race, was damaged. Abandoned for several decades, the steeple was ripped off in high winds.

6 59 E. Clifton in Over-the-Rhine suffered severe structural damage. The front-half of the residence suffered a total roof collapse and was occupied at the time. Brickwork also collapsed in some areas, and was obviously stressed in others. The rear was abandoned and had severe structural integrity issues, and fared much worse.

13 The A.G. Hauck Company Building, at 1109 Vine, was damaged. It was once a bakery and restaurant in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and today houses Park+Vine.

17 Anton Grammer, a German native, was a baker in Cincinnati. In 1872, he opened his first saloon and boarding house at 15th and Vine, and moved to Walnut Street in 1889. The Bakers Singing Society met at his cafe for many years. After his death in 1911, his son Frank took over the business and rebuilt the saloon. The beveled glass windows were imported from Germany.

It's now been posted at my blog if anyone cares.

The Grammar rathskeller is a cool space. I hope the building can be salvaged, but very worried about water damage down there. I was in Grammars last week, any word on it's status? Thank you very much for these good photos of sad scenes.  :(

Thank you UncleRando - in some ways I actually like the 'rathskeller' building more than the original because it is more intimate with recessed alcoves, booths and neat woodwork and carvings.  I hope the moose is okay! and really hope they can salvage that building..  very distressing....
