The 15th is best for me, but the 11th could work as well. Dec. 4 is bad for me.

My vote goes towards a Thursday.  Always better to enjoy a beverage after a long week than before one, in my opinion.

You just don't want to celebrate my birthday  :'(

Any of those 3 dates work for me (although I too prefer a Thursday).  Sorry I couldn't make this last one, I got stuck at work rather late trying to meet a deadline.

I have to have all cylinders firing even on the weekends most of the time.....  Oh to be finished with my Ph.D. :(

ha! my second holiday party at the Parkview.

I'll be there.

I'll be there, though I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay.

In.

Who else is in?  How about some more UOans!

i should be able to make it this time, although I might be a little late

Sure wish I could make this one but no. I'll be spinning tunes for some nursing school students at their Christmas party. Oh well...:-D

I'll be back in town for this....sounds cool; I've always wanted to put some faces to (screen)names.

our timing is excellent. Customer appreciation christmas party starting at 4. Homeade egg nog. Can we go early?

Any Karaoke this time?

sure, why don't you. who needs a machine?

No one should have any reservations!  If you're interested in coming, definitely do.  Everyone has had a blast at the last two UO Happy Hours and has gotten along extremely well and had a lot of good stuff to say.

So don't be intimidated...we're a fun, inclusive bunch, and you'll have a great time, too!

I think 1/2 the people were named Jeff, right?

That sounds about right. ;)

I think I'll be able to make it.

I have run into a *scheduling conflict , so may be late.

*Full disclosure-Barley Wine tapping at Rock Bottom 6pm . Generally first one free, next one $1 until 630. If this is not too storng, I should be at Parkview for egg nog.

* bump *

Any last-minute takers?

Just in case anyone needs a ride, the 26 runs 24 hours and right near the Parkview. It is a short (3 block) and safe walk. (I've done it a few times, as I tend to over imbibe at the Parkview more than other establishments -- that place just makes you want to have another!)

CD-Cleveland...do you think you guys will still be there around 8pm?

^ Most likely!  I will probably be there until 8:30pm, then have plans.

we had a good time too. It was nice meeting additional people named Jeff (and others) One day we will have to go some place quieter so we can chat more easily . Yes ok so I am getting old.

it was fun trying to find AMN a platonic dance partner. It was freaky there was no one freaky or drunk enough to partake. If the daytime cook from Hooples had not passsed out in the men's john she might have been a taker. If I had no shame and more Christmas ale, I might have been able to dance (it is not pretty as I only have a few 80's moves)

And that is why I am so very happy I have screws in my ankles.

  WTF?

see what you miss?

I wanted to come, but I ended up picking up a shift, to pick up some cash, at work.  Can't turn that down right now.  Hope to see everyone next time.

Thanks musky, Mayday, Jar3232, lewarctj, AMN, peabody99, and our three guests for coming out tonight!

Personally, I think she was one more drink away from where I needed her.

Oh dear.

^ Lawd!  A few more shots of that eggnog that that guy from the Parkview that looks like Tom Silva from This Old House was giving out might've done it.

I hope that no one tried to come and couldn't find us.  The place was packed to the gills because of the Parkview's customer appreciation party.  None of us that were there initially had any UO identifiers with us.

We'll pick a quieter place for next time, probably the second Thursday in January.

"None of us that were there initially had any UO identifiers with us'"

We saw a table full of geeks  and just headed over (and yes I know I am a geek too)

Sorry I missed it; ended up working later than I intended.

^^That's how I found all of you.

Hey everyone, let's pencil in the next UO Cleveland Happy Hour for Thursday, January 15 at 6:30pm.  We've been meeting the second Thursday of the month, but since there are five Thursdays this month and next week is the week a lot of folks are coming back from a long holiday vacation, we'll shoot for the third Thursday this time.

Who's coming, and those of you who are, where would you like to meet?  We've hit downtown, Ohio City, and Detroit Shoreway.  Is there anyplace on the near east side that is somewhat quiet and can potentially accommodate ten or more of us?  Any other suggestions?

I cannot make the 15th. See you in February.

Not similar to the other places we've gone, but definitely my style: Chuck's next to Jerman's Cafe on St. Clair. Here's the Cleveland Magazine write up on it when it was named one of Cleveland's best beer joints last month.

Chuck’s Place

We never noticed Chuck’s, next door to Mitzi Jerman’s Tavern. Now, Jerman’s is quieter with Mitzi gone, and Chuck’s renovated storefront invites us in. Mitzi’s niece runs the bar, calls you honey and says you can call her Mom. The bar is Art Deco-sleek, the ceiling is tin, and the vintage mini-bowling game lets two players bowl if you press the button right. Order: Stroh’s. 3830 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, (216) 361-9031

UO Cleveland Happy Hour

Thursday, January 15, 2008 - 6:30pm

Lincoln Park Pub, 2609 West 14th Street (at Starkweather)

Who intends on coming?

Lincoln Park Pub? If you're going to do Tremont, I say we pick a more imaginative place. Hotz's...The Rowley Inn...Tremont Tap House...The Clark Bar...

But I will go with the majority. And I'll be there, ready to jitterbug.

I think I will be making my first appearance.

I just decided to pick someplace large and somewhat quiet, hence LPP.  They have 25-cent wings on Thursdays, too.

Let's get some more people from the board on board!
