October 2, 200816 yr very nice -- although many of those neighborhoods are hardly secrets. here's the collinwood blurb: http://www.travelandleisure.com/images/slideshows/collinwood-cleveland-200810-ss.jpg Collinwood, Cleveland, OH Then: Immigrants from Croatia and Slovenia came here in the 1880’s to work in the railroad yards of this shoreside neighborhood in the far northeast corner of the city. Now: A neighborhood development group started to stimulate growth in 2004 by buying buildings and leasing them at low cost to boho businesses such as Music Saves, an indie-rock record store selling original vinyl as well as tickets to rock shows at the next-door Beachland Ballroom. Don’t Miss: Slovenian smoked sausage at Raddell’s Sausage Shop, supplying Clevelanders with bona fide Eastern European meats since 1979.
October 3, 200816 yr Oh great now I'm probably going to have to wait in a line a mile long to get my slovenian smoked sausage. :-) It would still be worth it.
October 3, 200816 yr If you do go to Raddell's, do yourself a favor and also try some cevapcici. It's a smaller, spicier sausage that is about the size of breakfast sausage. They're Slovenian/Croatian.

October 3, 200816 yr Where in Collinwood is Raddell's? E.152nd St. & Waterloo Rd. Don't you just love the Internet?! www.raddellssausage.com
October 3, 200816 yr I was introduced to Raddell's a couple years ago by my father in law. His trucking company delivered sausage casings there till he went out of business last spring. Unpleasant as sausage casings might be to think about, he's introduced the family to most of the best sausage makers between Chicago and New York. I just finished lunch and I'm getting hungry again already.
