Posted October 5, 200816 yr Here is an assortment of photos that I got on a few different outings. One group of photos is from the top of Tower Place Mall parking garage, another is some left overs from the Tour of Living, and then there are some photos from NE Downtown. Enjoy! 1. Lets just start things off with a kick in the mouth... 2. The McAlpin Building and its neighbor awaiting its renovation 3. 4. The McAlpin Building's rooftop deck and the next door neighbor 5. Looking east down 4th Street 6. Twist Lounge and Bromwell's 7. 8. You stay classy... 9. 10. Looking north up Race Street 11. Two reflecting beauties 12. 13. Leftover from the Tour of Living. These next three photos are of the model unit for Good Fellow Hall Lofts on Main Street in OTR... 14. 15. 16. 17. SouthShore in all its glory 18. SouthShore's next door neighbor 19. And a closeup Now onto the portion of the set where I was wondering about in NE Downtown. 20. 21. 8th Street boasts a number of design firms from architecture, urban design, branding, and marketing. It's sort of a design corridor and it makes sense given the collection of old warehouse structures that these types of firms love to locate in. 22. 23. 24. The famous Blue Wisp Jazz Club 25. Lofts across the street from the Blue Wisp 26. 27. 28. Silverglades market 29. The Power Building 30. 31. 32. 33. Arnold's...Cincinnati's oldest operating bar 34. Cute residential building across the street from Arnold's 35. 36. More lofts... 37. The backside of those lofts across the street from the Blue Wisp 38. 39. Oldie but goodie 40. That two/three story building will be making way for a 13-story hotel in the not so distant future 41. SouthShore peaking through 42. 43. So long...
October 5, 200816 yr Nice job! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 5, 200816 yr ^Yup...three garages were actually useful for this set of photos. They are much easier to gain access to than occupied buildings...and they're windowless.
October 5, 200816 yr The proposed hotel really will be a great addition to that quadrant in image 40.
October 6, 200816 yr This building was, and maybe still is, owned by UO's resident transportation/light rail guru John Schneider.
October 6, 200816 yr South Shore is really starting to grow on me. (Though the part facing toward Kentucky is not good, but I can completely understand why.)
October 7, 200816 yr These aren't loading for me? Weird...here's the direct link to the album if you still can't get them to load here: http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e33/UncleRando/Cincinnati/September%2008/

October 9, 200816 yr I like the views from that garage too, now tear it down and replace with condo's so people can enjoy those views out their windows.
October 26, 200816 yr Hi Randy. Greetings from Budapest! I really enjoyed looking at your pictures. My new home has nice art-nouveau / secession architecture that is very unique, but I somehow really miss downtown Cincinnati and OTR. I have to visit this forum more often to get my fix! Cheers everyone and viszontlatasra.

April 13, 201015 yr Just thought I'd give a bump to this gorgeous thread. I'd also like to add that I really love those streetlights downtown. They're somehow dated and timeless simultaneously.
