I wanna try a thread similar to the "world skyline thread". Instead of skylines though, post a picture or two of a neighborhood.

I made some guidelines that I believe are fair.

1. Try to make it a place where forumers have likely been to before, and a place noteworthy (no one is going to know some obscure neighborhood in Tulsa).

2. You can post multiple pictures if you think it's a hard one. Remember that street names and window signage can easily give it away.

3. Refrain from giving the city name until it's been posted for a day so we can see if people still manage to recognize it.

4. Don't be dumb and put the neighborhood name as your file name!

5. If you're doing a smaller town, I wouldn't go any smaller than Akron. Some people know small cities like the back of their hand, but most don't.

6. Winner obviously posts the next pic.

7. Make it a neighborhood in a U.S. city.

With that said, lets start out with this one to get the ball rolling...

Hmmm .. Elephant City?

Is there really an elephant city? lol.

In this case it's not an elephant trying to get a nut!

what kind of nuts?  Is it a gayborhood?

pa license plate....is that a clue or just a coincidence?  I dont recognize this off the bat.  There's a Rita's but......not sure.  Don't think this is Oakland in Pitt.  Bah, help!

That wasn't what I meant by it. It might have a high gay population. The neighborhood is trendy but is known for having a lot of jews. Another hint: In this region but not Ohio.

FYI - You don't have to post your own photos, simply use google images or take a few shots using google streetview, hit print screen, then paste it and edit it in paint or photoshop so the map can't be seen. :)

FYI - I'm too lazy to do that.

ColDayMan. You're up.

Pilsen is one of my favorite neighborhoods ever.

Well, since ColDayMan isn't putting one up and he won, I'll put another one up.

Man you can't expect us to know a european neighborhood!

it is in London, baby?

No, and it's a relatively known neighborhood in the world.  The building in the background is a big clue.

Netherlands?

Neighborhood, and no, not in the Netherlands.

Going by country is the only chance I have.

Well then I guess its not the Red Light District of Amsterdam; that's the only international neighborhood I know of lol

I love it!  A few hoods in, and we aren't following the rules....lol.

David, I know.  I was kidding/trying to be funny.  :)

David, is that Hamtramck?

Got it! You're up!

At the risk of sounding like MTS the Thread-Killer, please give me until the AM when I can scan a couple pix in at work...

David posed a question at:

http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,17559.msg334694.html#msg334694

Or did he ask out of turn?

What happend was ColDayMan knew the answer to the previous place but said that he didn't want to post the next one. So I posted the next one, but he changed his mind and posted the one in Paris. X got mine right though, it's Hamtramick. However Buckeye1 is up since he figured ColDayMan's out.

Hey......

Chris that looks like a neighborhood in Paris to me.  Definitely not Amsterdam in my opinion.  One of the most known neighborhoods in Paris is Montmartre although it looks like the Latin Quarter to me.

Okay. Still don't know the neighborhood, though.

I basically GAVE it to you in that last line.
