October 21, 200816 yr Ahem. I basically GAVE it to you in that last line. And I'm talking NEIGHBORHOOD. LOL. Okay. I got it. Buuut .. I feel like I'm cheating. So I shall hold off.
October 21, 200816 yr Again, blank in Charge! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 21, 200816 yr ^Are you referencing a bad 80's sitcom? (I'm not guessing because it's too hard to find pics to post at work.)
October 21, 200816 yr Aren't all 80's sitcoms bad? "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 21, 200816 yr Oh please! That show was trash! Especially that bald white guy. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 21, 200816 yr He would be crushed to hear that. I'm getting us off topic, but I'd take average 80s sitcom over average now sitcom any day. They're less bad.
October 21, 200816 yr Not New Brunswick? And I mean the town, not the province this time. Oh yeah, the hood. Rutger´s U area?
October 21, 200816 yr I saw the bridge in the third pic and knew it was Boston or Cambridge, but Bunker Hill makes sense Ooh ooh Charlestown, Boston
October 21, 200816 yr Oh yeah, I should be a professional stalker. It took all of two tries to find this spot on Google Street View. I drew a line from that skyscraper across the bay, though the bridge, and up to the nearest one way street facing that direction. BAM!!! 62 Soley St, Charlestown, Boston, MA Alright, I'm going... Here's the next one. The best part about this one is it looks easy, but it's not. The neighborhood changed names a few years back and I'll take either. BTW, Yahoo maps has it labeled wrong so don't ever try.
October 21, 200816 yr PS - I just realized that this is an incredibly ugly view of this neighborhood, it's not really that bleak when you're on the street.
October 22, 200816 yr Milwaukee (downtown) Intersection of Broadway and Wisconsin av. Recognized the building with the green roof.....and of course the lake in the background. I also never liked that addition on the building in the center. Okay, guess:
October 22, 200816 yr I believe it's technically East Town. Hayward you're up. Btw I love those shots of Charlestown. Man, I usually don't like siding but that's done really well. It looks like a colonial/federal Mt. Adams lol.
October 22, 200816 yr BTW, I violated the rules for my pic, so that should actually give some hints and make it easier.
October 22, 200816 yr Hell no, Hayward. That is not "downtown" as you put is. Milwaukee does not have a neighborhood called CBD or downtown, it's divided into a few neighborhoods...that's why I chose it. This is East Town ot Juneau Town. David, you're up.
October 22, 200816 yr Whatever, Milwaukee can play the Chamber of Commerce "Let's Create Identity Game" all it wants, but it's still downtown to 99% of the people in this world. 3rd and 5th wards can still be considered neighborhoods, because that's sensible.
October 22, 200816 yr I'm going to let Hayward keep his up - I'm curious to know where his is, but I told him he has to give the neighborhood name next time regardless of it being 'downtown' since it's a branded district/neighborhood and since you clearly asked for the neighborhood name. I didn't know it was Milwaukee, I only figured that out after looking up Milwaukee's neighborhood's after his post.
October 22, 200816 yr Well, I don't really know neighborhoods in Toronto, but it only took me a few seconds to find Church St.
October 22, 200816 yr Typing in the businesses is okay I suppose considering I violated a rule of the game lol, but this area does have a name.
October 22, 200816 yr Doesn't look gay enough to be Church-Wellesley. But you never know about them Toronto gays.
October 22, 200816 yr Milwaukee (downtown) Intersection of Broadway and Wisconsin av. Recognized the building with the green roof.....and of course the lake in the background. I also never liked that addition on the building in the center. Okay, guess: Downtown Toronto/Lawrence Market ?
October 22, 200816 yr Close enough. Old Town is what I was looking for, but since it's just a few blocks from the market, that's good for me. MTS wins.
October 22, 200816 yr Close enough. Old Town is what I was looking for, but since it's just a few blocks from the market, that's good for me. MTS wins. I thought it was called Lawrence Market (aka Old Toronto) I could have sworn I saw signs that say that. Oh well. I'll have a neighborhood shortly, based on David's rules. :-D
October 27, 200816 yr Hey man you plan on posting a neighborhood any time soon? lol Yes I'm trying to work on a really good neighborhood. please be patient.
October 29, 200816 yr Someone else just post a neighborhood. There's no excuse for it taking MTS 6 days to come up with one, as a regular poster.
October 29, 200816 yr This time I followed the rules. And don't complain about this one being too hard, I know some of you have actually been here.
October 29, 200816 yr I'm just guessing this because of the environment - I don't recognize the buildings but.. Cabrini Green/Near North Chicago??
October 29, 200816 yr Nope, keep guessing, although David you've mentioned that you've been here, as have numerous other forumers here on UO
October 29, 200816 yr That's definitely not Detroit architecture. Has to be Chicago or St.L. Has to be near downtown Chicago or North side somewhere I'm thinkin.
October 29, 200816 yr this is a fun thread. But it would be cool to also have an Ohio tag where one person snaps a pic, and someone has to go to the SAME spot, snap a pic and post it. The they are next to post... It is more fun IMO to have slightly obscure places that a landmark that everyone would know If I only had a working camera........
October 30, 200816 yr ^Hey, if you can figure out the spots, you can just post a pic you find on google if you don't have a camera. Seems like cameras are a lot cheaper than they used to be. I have an 8.1 megapixel camera I bought for 90 bucks. It's not the best but after I run it through photoshop you would never know it was taken with a point-and-shoot.
October 30, 200816 yr So far, still nobody has gotten it. I'm actually a little surprised. I'll say a clue that may be helpful. It's not close to this particular city's downtown.
October 30, 200816 yr Yes, you win! This is one block East of the Howard Street Station. Where is rob?
October 30, 200816 yr Hmmm where oh where could this neighborhood be? oh and this one is NOT the one that will continue the thread if answered correctly (because its hard) but I'm curious if anyone recognizes it? It's a great place to vacation; it's unique, and it's in U.S.
October 30, 200816 yr I've done my fair share of stumbling around 18th st and will actually be doing more of it this weekend. I'm ready for a jumbo slice!
