oh and this one is NOT the one that will continue the thread if answered correctly (because its hard) but I'm curious if anyone recognizes it? It's a great place to vacation; it's unique, and it's in U.S.

Thomas Kinkade?  Is that an outdoor suburban mall?

Yep - with a town plan designed in the 16th century ;) No, it's just has shops like that because it's touristy and so old. That wood cabin on the right side of the street is the oldest school house in America. It has dents in it from musket balls lol. The St. Francis Inn has over a year waiting list because its apparently so haunted. I went on a ghost tour but I didn't see anything :(

damnit...i knew the Adams Morgan one too :-( In fact, one of my favorite bars, Meze is in the bottom of that pic.

Joe the Traveler hasn't posted in 9 days. X you're up. You got St. Augustine right.

This isn't my picture:

Ooh, I have no clue, but I LOVE this.  Does anybody else see the SOHO potential?

no idea but reminds me of Erie PA

..

I have mine.  I want my turn.

I'm going to post it anyway!  :P

Guess mine then.

Looks like Memphis.

Too far south, and not far enough west.

It's this city's equivalent (geographically) to the Flats.

Hmm..is it South Chicago in Chicago; or Tollston, Pine, or Clark Junction in Gary?

Nope, nope, nope.  You've gone too far north, and still not far enough west.

Is it in St. Louis?

Nope.

Warehouse District in Peoria?

Nope.  It's a fairly big city.

Holy Crap!  Shawnee Heights, Kansas City, St Louis ave at Hickory.

I totally got it by randomly clicking in google streeetview.  It was my first click in KC and I hit the exact intersection.  Freaky.

Okay, it might be called the Central Industrial District too

I checked Kansas City, areas I thought would be industrial  - and didn't find it. D@mn. You're the king of google maps.

I'd seen it referred to as "The Bottoms" too, but you are right.  Post something!

Take it MTS...

BTW, this area, including much of DT KC has been modeled and photo skinned in Google Earth.  It's pretty impressive.  And if you really want to check something cool out, check out Boston, SF, and Philly.  They have almost the entire central city photo realistically modeled for these cities, Boston being particularly extensive.

This area of KC is really fascinating.  I'm googling it now.  Quality Hill looks like a beautiful neighborhood overlooking it too.

I find it interesting how Pittsburgh centered itself on the confluence of the rivers and KC but it's industrial core right on it.

Here we go!  Have at it!

Somewhere in San Juan, PR?

Truth or Consequences, NM?

old town, San Juan

old town, San Juan

Damn you!

You are one of two people I knew that would get this and I cropped the pictures, to keep out flags and writing!

This is La Fortaleza / The Gov's mansion area.

Boo...

I wanted MTS to ride it a little longer.

Oh well, what's next?

lol. I think I took that exact picture when I was there last year. Did we say it had to be US (or sort of)? If so, I may be in a lurch b/c we lost a lot of digital pics from the last few years. I may need to pass to X as second runner up....then maybe in later days if there is a lull in the game and someone fails to post a follow up, I can jump in (if I can ever retrieve pics)

Peabody, it doesn't have to be your pic. Just use google images or something :)

Btw, Canada can count too. The only reason I said U.S. is because I didnt want people putting up some random place like in Jakarta that no one has ever heard of or been to.

Well PR is part of the United States.

X didn't have it correct, San Juan and Old San Juan/Old Town are like Shaker Square/Shaker Hts.  Close but no cigar.

silly I know PR is part of the US, I was talking about me- as far as me posting a US pic, I may have a problem.

Oh come on!!!

Guess where this was taken based on restaurant and view from the window. Clue: Midwest, large suburb of its city. Note diagonal parking in the business district.

I'm going to guess Berea, but that doesn't feel right.

Nope. Different state.

naperville?

You're getting very close Peabody. Closer to the city.

Joliet? Aurora?

Wrong direction from the center of the city.

it is not south?

It's north :)

wriggleyville?

No. Close.
