is this the right time

for the oberservatory on the carew tower ?

Hours

MON    TUE    WEN    TH    FRI    Sa      SUN

Open 9:30      9:30    9:30  9:30  9:30  10:00  10:00

Closed 17:30  17:30  17:30 17:30 18:00  19:00  19:00

I'm not entirely sure...just walk in the entrance off of Vine Street and ask the security guy at the desk.  I think there are hours posted there.

.. but .. I  don`t want to go to the Carew Tower if it is closed ..

Here's a novel idea.  Call them and inquire about hours.  Old fashioned, yes.  Effective, yes.

You can get inside the building most anytime you want.  The hours to get into the building are not the same as those to go to the Observation Deck.  Either way, I did a quick google and here is what I turned up:

Observation deck: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 - 7:00 PM.

Observation deck admission: $2 for adults; $1 for children

Apparently the Carew Tower Observation Deck's admission has now risen to $6 for adults!

^ It jumped up from $2 (which is what the price had been for as long as I can remember) to $4 2 or 3 years ago. $6 is nuts. I used to go on my lunch break every now and then because it was a cheap way to kill 10 minutes or so. I found out about the $4 price tag after having gone all the way up to the little desk on the roof - I turned around and left.

$6 isn't too bad for the occasional visitor/tourist, but definitely see your point Ram23[/member].  When I worked near there I used to do the same on lunch or when Just needed a break. They don't really market the deck or advertise it and to be fair, it's nothing like the Uber-touristy ones in Chicago and NYC. Glad that we have it, though.

Was always surprised Great American Tower never got one.

About a year ago I heard a rumor that a plexiglass barrier was going to be installed around the perimeter of the observation deck. If that is still in the works, perhaps the increased admission fee is a way for them to pay for it.
