Morton's Toe is the common term for the second toe (second from innermost) extending further than the great toe (Hallux). In reality, this is not entirely true, as Morton's Toe is typically due to a lengthened second metatarsal. This promotes an anterior position of the second metatarsal-phalangeal (MTP) joint in relation to the Hallux.

My second toe is longer than my big toe.  Mr. xumelanie calls this the freak toe.  I always tell him that my toes are normal and his are the crazy ones!

I refuse to show a photo, but the toenail of my second toe begins where my big toe (toe, not the toenail) ends. Yeah, I'm the poster child for Morton's toe. :-|

EDIT: Not my pic, but from wikimedia - in my case, the big toe and second toe look like this, but the third toe is even with the big toe:

Rumors have it that people with the second toe tend to be the dominant one in the relationship.  Do you or your spouse/partner consider yourself the dominant one in the relationship?

Mine are pretty much the same.

BTW, I have none of the problems with my longer second toe that are described in the wikipedia article.  No pain, no toenail problems.  It is just a foot with a longer second toe. ;)

My daughter calls it the "Daddy Toe".

All my current shoes are flat front and I don't have any problems with the second toe rubbing, I haven't worn rounded shoes in a couple of years now.  I never got into the pointed shoe fad that I see in some international airports.

tsk...tsk...tsk

^ Care to explain?

Given the statements that have been made about those who have a longer 'second toe' I often wish for this to be true for me.  Unfortunately I just have a 'second toe' that is even with my big toe.

Yep, second toe is longer. Had to take off my nikes to find out.

Now that we have the "second toe" covered, who would be the big toe of this forum?
