You're either using Photoshop to straighten a lot of your perspectives or you're somehow taking a lot of those photos perfectly level.  Straightening the converging perspective lines is one of the huge advantages of digital.  The only way to correct for that in traditional photography is with either a PC lens (which all cost over $1,000 and don't even work that well) or with a view camera, which you can get for cheap but it ends up costing $1-$5 per shot.

It has been no secret of mine that I post process all of my photos before they hit my website.  You might find some older ones on there that are crooked, uncropped or cleaned up but I have removed many of them.  Believe it or not, I am more of a fan of Picasa of late and use it more than Photoshop to clean up my photos and Picasa is free.  I just wish they had a version for Linux.

excellent photos monte.  is there anybody else that thinks we could do without all the neon in the skyline?

i freakin' LOVE that city!!!!  Can't wait to move there someday.

^ Sorry I don't remember where you live now, could you enlighten us?

Hey thats across the street from my house, well at least for one more week.  Great pics, I'm always amazed at how crisp and clean they always are.  You are a true ambassador for our city.

awesome job! Cincinnati is truly a beautiful city

great images...great perspectives...excellent work!

So you live in Fairview then?  Hmm did I happen to get a photo of your house?  ColDay and I were lurking around your street two nights ago, that is his old stomping grounds.

Thanks all for the gracious comments.  Truly, it is a pleasure exploring Cincinnati.

Great photos as usual!  I'm a sucker for colurful skies like in the second pic.

I'm curious what exactly you mean... are you talking about just managing to get the camera straight or is it something more complicated?  Do you have before and after examples of the straightening you're talking about?  I'm intrigued...

Why don't you just post them without even looking at them first, like Citylover does?  :D

I like the tunnel of vines shot from Mt. Adams.

^I second that bump from awhile back!!!  Some great pics in this one!!!  This is one of my favorites of the bunch...

Great pics! They really show the 19th century feel.

But all those "for sale" signs make my stomach churn,

atleast it is slowly turning around. :-)

^funny, i thought the opposite. on the pic i mentioned above i notice rehabbed buildings with for rent signs not for sale. the owners fixed up the buildings to rent out -- they dont wanna let go of the buildings -- thats good!

I dident notice that,

Its great that people arent letting blocks of history be demolished like it was forty years ago,

bleh, older architecture is truely superior, especially in Cincy.

Columbus: "But where are people gonna park?"

park?!Thats travesty in Cincy! I walk! lol

Wow!

I missed this thread the first time around.  Those pics are great!

Cincinnati rocks and so do these photos.  Can't wait until baseball season starts.  I love spending an afternoon in downtown Cincy watching the Reds win. (or lose? haha)
