August 24, 200519 yr super. just superb! i esp like this one, makes you want to start up a business down there at the street level:
August 25, 200519 yr You're either using Photoshop to straighten a lot of your perspectives or you're somehow taking a lot of those photos perfectly level. Straightening the converging perspective lines is one of the huge advantages of digital. The only way to correct for that in traditional photography is with either a PC lens (which all cost over $1,000 and don't even work that well) or with a view camera, which you can get for cheap but it ends up costing $1-$5 per shot.
August 25, 200519 yr It has been no secret of mine that I post process all of my photos before they hit my website. You might find some older ones on there that are crooked, uncropped or cleaned up but I have removed many of them. Believe it or not, I am more of a fan of Picasa of late and use it more than Photoshop to clean up my photos and Picasa is free. I just wish they had a version for Linux.
August 25, 200519 yr excellent photos monte. is there anybody else that thinks we could do without all the neon in the skyline?
August 25, 200519 yr Hey thats across the street from my house, well at least for one more week. Great pics, I'm always amazed at how crisp and clean they always are. You are a true ambassador for our city.

You are a true ambassador for our city. So you live in Fairview then? Hmm did I happen to get a photo of your house? ColDay and I were lurking around your street two nights ago, that is his old stomping grounds. See below: http://www.pbase.com/montecarloss/fairview Thanks all for the gracious comments. Truly, it is a pleasure exploring Cincinnati.
August 25, 200519 yr Great photos as usual! I'm a sucker for colurful skies like in the second pic. You're either using Photoshop to straighten a lot of your perspectives or you're somehow taking a lot of those photos perfectly level. Straightening the converging perspective lines is one of the huge advantages of digital. The only way to correct for that in traditional photography is with either a PC lens (which all cost over $1,000 and don't even work that well) or with a view camera, which you can get for cheap but it ends up costing $1-$5 per shot. I'm curious what exactly you mean... are you talking about just managing to get the camera straight or is it something more complicated? Do you have before and after examples of the straightening you're talking about? I'm intrigued...
August 26, 200519 yr It has been no secret of mine that I post process all of my photos before they hit my website. Why don't you just post them without even looking at them first, like Citylover does? :D

August 26, 200519 yr ^ Sorry I don't remember where you live now, could you enlighten us? From Harrison(25 minutes west of cincy) and currently going to school at Ohio State. Wanna move to Cincy when I graduate.
February 5, 200718 yr ^I second that bump from awhile back!!! Some great pics in this one!!! This is one of my favorites of the bunch...
February 5, 200718 yr Great pics! They really show the 19th century feel. But all those "for sale" signs make my stomach churn, atleast it is slowly turning around. :-)
February 5, 200718 yr ^funny, i thought the opposite. on the pic i mentioned above i notice rehabbed buildings with for rent signs not for sale. the owners fixed up the buildings to rent out -- they dont wanna let go of the buildings -- thats good!
February 5, 200718 yr I dident notice that, Its great that people arent letting blocks of history be demolished like it was forty years ago, bleh, older architecture is truely superior, especially in Cincy.
February 6, 200718 yr Cincinnati rocks and so do these photos. Can't wait until baseball season starts. I love spending an afternoon in downtown Cincy watching the Reds win. (or lose? haha)
