One of the best towns in this state.

I went to grade school there.  Great town.  The houses have names like Bryn Du.  They're trying pretty hard to keep it from becoming a Columbus exurb.  My brother wants to move back there, but the property taxes are really high now.

Cute town

Beautiful.

Charming & tidy!

Such a nice setting!

Great traffic calming measure and an excellent way to support pedestrian activity.  These kinds of things need to become more of the standard when building crosswalks in Ohio.  It's not a landscaped median, but a pedestrian "safe-haven" nonetheless.  Very nice.

I've noticed that in other cities, including Columbus, they stick the fluorescent yellow pedestrian crossing signs in the middle of the road where crosswalks are indicating that it is the law to yield to pedestrians.  I find these to be a cheap alternative to what is done here, although both are effective.

Exurban living at its finest.

I disagree. Try exercising your right to walk across High at the pedestrian crossing across from the convention center, or just about any crosswalk on a 30MPH+ street. Drivers figure they're going too fast, they're not going to slow down and nobody who wants to live will step in front of them. Now if there were speed humps strategically placed before the crosswalk then they'd work. I'm pretty sure what Granville did is more economical though. And where's Dennison with all of it's fall colors?

Very cute town. The CVS building is... well, nicer than I thought when I went through here not long ago. Could be better, but its better than what CVS typically builds!

Victoria's Secret? ;)

It's a quiet college town.  Been there once.  Stayed at the Granville Inn.  Pretty cool old hotel.

Ohio has some excellent college towns and lots of 'em. I need to visit more.

Looks like it’s been around 12.5 years since this thread was updated. And yet these I just took don’t look so different than the ones @ink took in November 2008. Time moves slowly in quaint little exurban villages.

Separate honorable mention for a less scenic urban set: Google Maps tells me this bike path along Raccoon Creek under the Cherry Street bridge where I’m standing is called the Evans Foundation Bike Path. I don’t remember it being called that 25 years ago, and I also don’t remember it having any asphalt paving, but in 1996-2000, this was the starting point for the Watkins Memorial High School cross country team’s season-opening 5-mile time trial, and where I as a freshman in high school learned that I was never, ever going to make varsity on a perennial state qualifier.
