The California company that plans to transform a swath of downtown Toledo along Swan Creek into a $300 million river walk development is building a reputation nationwide for that kind of revitalization.

Tetra Tech Inc. - which announced plans Thursday to pay Toledo $4.2 million for 27 parcels of city-owned property for the project - has helped implement other large-scale waterfront improvement programs.

Wow, I like the looks of this!

Are they going to dredge a small river/canal inland to build this around?  Obviously, that river seen above is not the Maumee, so I was just curious.

^That waterway you see is Swan Creek, which empties into the Maumee in the heart of downtown Toledo.

^If you page up a little bit to the graphic "Toedo's New Arts District", the thin little blue waterway running thru the middle of it is Swan Creek.
