A $30 million gift from the Lindner families would pay to build a behavioral health center in Mason, which officials predict would become a nationally recognized facility for research and treatment of mental illness.

 

The donation from the Craig and Frances Lindner and Carl H. and Edyth Lindner Jr. families is among the largest ever received by the University of Cincinnati.

Behavioral treatment gets commission's approval

MASON - Fears of walk-aways, sex offenders and traffic jams prompted more than 50 residents to come to the Mason Planning Commission meeting Tuesday night to protest a planned $22 million behavioral health center operated by the Health Alliance.

 

The commission unanimously recommended approval of rezoning 102 acres along Western Row Road for the Craig and Frances Lindner Center of HOPE (Helping Other People Excel).

MASON -- Mason city council will conduct a public hearing next week on the proposed zoning change that could bring a 40-acre behavioral health center and a 60-acre office park to the former Gregory property on Western Row Road.

 

The Health Alliance, in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati, announced plans for the behavioral health medical campus in September after the Lindner families pledged a $30 million gift to build the Craig and Frances Lindner Center of HOPE -- which stands for "helping other people excel."

MASON - A proposed $22 million behavioral health center that planners say will be the top such facility in the country got the green light Monday to make this southern Warren County community its home.

MASON - Construction will begin this month on the first free-standing behavioral health center built nationwide since 2001.

 

An invitation-only groundbreaking ceremony will take place Oct. 27 at the 102-acre site on the south side of Old Western Row Road, across from the Luxottica building.

Behavioral health center to break ground

MASON - Officials here will break ground today on the first free-standing behavioral health center built in the country since 2001.

 

The $29 million Craig and Frances Lindner Center of HOPE (Helping Other People Excel) is expected to open in mid-2008 and will provide inpatient and outpatient mental health care to adults, seniors and adolescents.
