Yes, even here in godless SF, the decorations are coming out and the yuletide season is beginning (pre-Thanksgiving of course).  This is particularly the case in Union Square, as stores try their best to get people spending.

Decorating the tree before the official lighting, which I believe is this weekend.

This is the first year of the Union Square ice skating rink (there is another at Embarcadero Center).  Taken on Saturday with temperatures around 70 degrees

Not much of a photo thread, just a few randoms taken with my wife's camera over the past week.  I hope to post more in the month ahead.  I look forward to seeing some Christmas shots around Ohio too.  Cheers!

Neat stuff and excellent photos. It looks like they do it up right, despite the mild climate and lack of snow.

I'm going to Chicago in a couple of weeks, and looking forward to the festivities there.

Is the cat for sale?  If so, I'm heading up north this weekend!

I love SF, especially the Union Square area.

Awesome!

Get a bobcat. That's what I plan on getting whenever in my life I can afford to drop a couple grand. Here's what they look like:

They get pretty big from eating live animals in your back yard.

You can buy a bobcat for your house???  Interesting... they are rather cute.

I responded here- I don't want to disrespect this thread by going farher off topic.

Btw awesome pics CiNYC. It's so funny seeing people ice skate with short sleeve shirts. You definitely won't see that in Ohio!

very nice. you may have inspired me -- i was thinking about getting up to brave black friday in the morning. we'll see.

Yep, they're all for sale.  The other day there was a puppy in one of the windows that kept scratching at the fake door in the back like it wanted in.  Turned out that someone had just adopted its sibling and it wanted to be with it.  Looked sad at the time, but it's a great thing they're doing for the animals.

And mrnyc,  please do.  Today might be more of a hassle than it's worth, but I'd love to see some pics if you get the chance.  NYC is spectacular at Christmas.

The tree lighting here is at 6pm tonight, so I'm thinking of stopping by and getting some more shots.

Great shots!  I like these holiday threads.  I've been to quite a few tree lighting ceremonies lately and it's always nice to see the big crowds of people getting together.  Especially when there's free food and drinks.

I thought the same thing.  The decorations look great, but the 70 degree ice skating is kind of odd.

Great shots....I never think to take my camera with me when going out here. Some day.  Was downtown for the first time in a month last Wednesday and was suprised at the Christmas decorations. I had forgotten all about the  upcoming holidays!  Thanks for the photos and the reminder!

haha, no prob spike.  it is easy to forget in this city unless you're around union square.  i go through there every day though, so i'll be getting more pics now that everything's lit up and more and more stores are adding decorations.

need to get some shots of fillmore too, i've heard it looks good, but i'm not usually over that way.
