Posted December 11, 200816 yr This past Saturday there was a light snow. In some areas it seemed to cause quite a bit of traffic havoc. As I ran my sister to her soccer game in the suburbs I noticed people freaking out as if this was some big storm. People seem to over react and forget how to drive in incliment weather. My Corolla does just fine and I didn't find the conditions too bad, combined with being in a bad mood I thought the only good thing to do was to run down to Sawyer Point and take a few photographs: -Serpentine Wall -Big Mac Bridge and Ohio River -Serpentine and Taylor-Southgate Bridge -Piers -Undisturbed Snow -Serpentine and Ascent -Snow -Wall and bridges -From the Public Landing approaching the wall. - I took this photo as I was leaving. I parked at the Public Landing and came back after taking photos to find my car surrounded by the red, white and blue flags. The Showboat Majestic puts those up to mark reserved parking for the boat on the landing. My question is: Never before have i seen them take up so much reserved space, I tried to park here later for the Cyclones game and there were hardly any cars parked there for the Showboat. -Taylor-Southgate and the River. -Thanks for checking out the photos! Go Cyclones (even though they blew it)! www.queencitydisco.com
December 11, 200816 yr I really like the second to last one, "Taylor-Southgate and the River." Good stuff. :)

December 12, 200816 yr I love the Big Mac Bridge picture. I just really love the design of that bridge.
December 15, 200816 yr Great shots! I was in Columbus for the weekend, so I missed the Cincinnati snow (unfortunately, had to deal with driving in the Columbus snow, though). Thanks for the pictures!
December 15, 200816 yr Ugh, the hell of winter in Ohio... Cincinnati actually has some pretty mild winters.
December 16, 200816 yr ^ Yeah, it's grey, but Cincinnati doesn't get the sustained cold weather that areas near the Great Lakes have to deal with. It's very cold for a week, and then it will be tolerable for a week or two. We usually only see snow maybe half a dozen times per winter. And even then it's gone within a week or so. Just enough for it to be fun.

December 17, 200816 yr I don't mind the Cincinnati winters, we have a mild winter for the most part but the gloom just sucks. Tell Canada to keep that crap within their own borders.
December 17, 200816 yr I read an interesting summary from a girl responding to why she liked the Cincinnati weather instead of that of her hometown (on one of the Great Lakes), and she said she preferred 5 months of summer over 5 months of winter. Not exactly true, but I understood the gist. Once we get to the middle of December through the middle of February, outside of snow and ice being on the ground most of the time up north, there is not much difference. The lack of sun is also a bummer, and January seems the worst. At least in February you know spring is approaching.
