I just remembered.... I have lots of ice cubes in my freezer. I will let a glass of them sit out for a half-hour prior to going to bed. I always have a glass of water at my bedside as I sometimes wake up thirsty in the middle of the night.

Haha, we drink water out of the fridge too.  But we had bottles sitting around because I bring them to work and drink them there.

 

You still have nasty water, KJP?  Ours is only a little bit murky, but not bad at all.

Water main break draws attention to Cleveland's crumbling system

The perils of an aging water system struck Cleveland twice Wednesday, first when a 42-inch water main burst in the morning, cutting off water to much of the city, and again in the afternoon, when a drop in pressure temporarily left firefighters without water to fight a blaze in a downtown office tower.

 

The incidents underscored the sorry state of Cleveland's deteriorating infrastructure. Massive water-main breaks are at least an annual event for a system largely built at the end of the 1800s.

Here it is 11 p.m. and my water still has a rusty look to it. I'm on Lakewood's Gold Coast, three block west of the "boil water zone" which ends at West 117th. I'm just not using water for drinking -- sticking to Diet Cokes for now.

 

A relative of mine in one of the Gold Coast high-rises (also beyond the W. 117th boil alert cutoff) said her water was a dark brown color fairly late last night.  However, my water downtown is perfectly clear, although I have been boiling it.
