Posted December 21, 200816 yr To the tune of "Silver Bells" and, I hope, to the tastes of forumers: Little chain stores, great big Wal-Marts Dressed in mercantile style, In the air there's a feeling of shopping/ Drivers cursing, autos passing, Driving mile after mile, And at every off-ramp you will see: Taco Bells, Taco Bells, It's Christmas time in the suburbs. K'ching! k'ching! Cash box ring, Soon it will be Christmas Day!
December 22, 200816 yr I made a comment about Taco Bell the other day: "run for the border, among other things....". A friend of mine at first thought it was "racist", then I realized she's way too young to remember that ill-thought-out ad campaign. Another in a continuing series of "dude, you are way older than these people" moments. :-o
December 22, 200816 yr ^ ..... still to come. C'mon, it's been only 15 years since I wrote the first verse. I'll get on it soon, I hope.

December 23, 200816 yr Never thought about it. Until I posted it yesterday, I had never shared it publicly other than in a newspaper column I wrote in Minnesota -- I just checked my files, and it was printed 14 years ago today. I don't know what that means in terms of copyrighting.
