Posted January 10, 200916 yr I thought I'd share these pics of Columbus I snapped from my favorite hiking spot in the SE Metro. Not many people get to see Columbus from this point of view so enjoy :)
January 10, 200916 yr Chestnut Ridge, right? I remember seeing that view back in 2002 when I was 'exploring' Columbus. Well done. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 10, 200916 yr Yep Chestnut Ridge! That and Slate Run Metroparks offer the best elevated views of Columbus.
January 12, 200916 yr haha yep they's hills in them thar parts... Actually the park boasts as being the first Northern ridge in the Appalachain foothills of SE Ohio. I live just north of the hills and can see em from my 2nd and 3rd floors. I may take more pics next time i'm up there and the sky is clearer.
January 13, 200916 yr I noticed on the Chestnut ridge website that the park is considered a metro park. Is it apart of a larger parker system like the Emerald Necklace in Cleveland?
January 13, 200916 yr oh yea.. Columbus is ringed with Metro Parks though not a continuous ring per say. The farthest metro park reachs into South East Ohio: CLEAR CREEK (4,935 acres) 185 Clear Creek Road, Rockbridge, OH 43149(northern Hocking & southern Fairfield counties)From I-270, take U.S. 33 east toward Lancaster about 31 miles. From Lancaster, continue on U.S. 33 south about seven miles to Clear Creek Road (State Route 116).Turn right on Clear Creek Road. Picnic areas, facilities and trails are located along Clear Creek Road for the next seven miles.
