Thanks @marty15. However I try to keep the coverage focused on Cleveland and its inner-ring suburbs.

The first phase of Lake Metroparks Lakefront Trail is now open. When completed, it will link Painesville Township Park with Fairport Harbor at a distance of 2.5 miles--

If you happen to be driving through Perry Village, I’m doing all the architectural and design work on the former village hall and police department. As well as creating a lot of the custom accents.

no details regarding any proposals yet, but apparently the site is currently owned by Lake Erie College (originally to be used for dorms). Good news if this can happen, since this has been sitting vacant for far too long!

"The site extends for more than six acres at the corner of West Washington and Champion streets, and it also runs along much of the length of West High Street. The old high school building was demolished in 2010 after students moved to the current building at 200 W. Walnut Ave."

I know! Who were those brewery people anyway? Grifters probably. But as far as I know Crowley's, just a few doors down the street, should be opening sometime very soon--

a brief video of the progress on the Lake County Safety Center (sans music--Jailhouse Rock maybe ?) You would think from the size of this footprint that a 70-story building was going up

this looks like it would be a nice place to work

this is certainly a loss for Painesville. Evolve Transporters moving to Noblesville, Indiana (no mention of it in the city council meetings 🤨). Makes sense to be near the Indianapolis Speedway, but still. Good riddance. Just kidding!

"NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Evolve Transporters, the maker of those brightly colored car carriers seen rolling down the highway and through the gates of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is relocating its headquarters and manufacturing facilities from just outside of Cleveland to the Washington Business Park along State Road 37 southeast of Noblesville."

Lake Erie College is a very small school with a very small campus, but that hasn't stopped it from taking its last bit of open space (which was used for athletic training and practice for various sports) and creating a $1.5M soccer field. It should be ready in the fall. Grandstand seating is planned. Most appreciative will no doubt will be the people who live in homes surrounding the facility ☹️

hmmm...I suspect this place is trying to give Crowley's a run for its money 🤔

More or less my part of the world these days, I'm sure I'll check it out.

I wonder if they will be opening early for breakfast like Crowley's does. There's a surprising dearth of bars open in the morning these days. It's a very different vibe from normal breakfast places.

I'm guessing not since it looks like the Shaker Heights location opens at 11:00. But a bar for breakfast?...the-simpsons-lenny-leonard.gif

It's an institution down here. Pat Dee's in Northfield Center used to always be open for breakfast, when I had Mondays off on the primary job the owner of the bar I worked at would go there with a few of us. Now it's just Friday, Saturday, and Sundays....and they close at 1pm on Sundays.

When I was on third shift in Mentor managing an urgent project I finally found one but it took awhile.

having never dined in a bar for breakfast I'm largely unfamiliar with concept (doesn't this violate blue laws? lol) I noticed that the Painesville Crowley's just started breakfast on weekends at 9. I think the other locations might already have it on weekdays

Eastlake opens at 8am, IIRC. If there's any blue laws left they are strictly local and widely mocked.

They open for European soccer matches. It’s a different kind of vibe and I love it.
