What did you do wrong?

Surprisingly (hee haw), I was banned from SkyscraperPage once.

And now I own your soul. *too lazy to put devil smiley here*

Never been banned, because I'm just so nice.

I've been reprimanded on Urban Planet a few times but that is about it.

Urbanplanet-who??

We'll just look at your creepy avatar. :-D

^And you didn't come back for a really long time. We all knew you'd finally come around though.

Especially with his Cincinnati infatuation. ;)

I was banned from the American Idol website a few years ago--twice in the same season registered under different names. I got a little too carried away in my support for Elliott Yamin. I can't believe I just admitted that. What am I, like 16? I got so sick of all the saccharine "commentary" I decided to become a super-troll. Those tweens are soooo sensitive to a little criticism! (I have to promise myself I will not watch that damn show this year!! btw, it starts tomorrow)

I can picture Simon Cowell as the admin, reprimanding you. "What in the bloody hell was that? You are quite possibly the worst poster I have ever seen. Every time I look at your posts, my blood glucose skyrockets".

you're obviously unfamiliar with Sanjaya. Stay tuned though, Obama nominated him to be the next Surgeon General. Didn't he?

Hot.

I've been banned several times, they beg me to come back though. I wish they wouldn't, I may actually make something of my life.

I'm sure he knows drugs and tobacco like no other lol

Nope...although I just quit going to places like SSP and SSC where I probably would have been given time.  Same thing goes for the angel of death - CityData website.

No.

Maybe someone should start a thread about getting kicked out of parties and bars, the stories would be more interesting.  Like the time during Dad's Weekend when my uncle got kicked out of The Red Brick Tavern in Athens at 7pm, then had to go get another dad out of Nelsonville's jail at 5am.

Oh lord, CityData.

Some of those anti-city threads are the least intellectual crap I've ever seen. There is serious pro-suburban mentality on that forum.

They b!tch about crime too much. Honestly though, I think if you want a realistic view of how the general population feels - you'll get it from that site.

OMG ... this is an understatement.

That queen!  She is so tired!  I'm going to gouge my eyes out now!

There was a time (pre UO) that I was a fairly regular poster on Cleveland.com. I was routinely banned from that site, mostly for challenging moderators' assumptions about what was considered legitimate 'discussion'.

Then I just became a regular troll @ss over there. Then I just gave up. Never looked back.

Moderator?  What moderator?

perhaps moderator is the wrong word. Delet-ors are probably a better descriptor. They exist, albeit in a highly useless role.

Thats what i'm talkin' about!

I was banned from Democratic Underground and Free Republic.

I'm finding myself more at City-Data than I do here.  I think it has something to do with that its an older crowd there and I do live, after all, in the suburbs.

I've been reprimanded on Urban Planet a few times but that is about it.

People still go there?

I was banned at UER.ca for a while, but wrote a very lengthy apology letter to the site owner. I'm actually one of the longest standing members on that site, but it went to the craphole for a while due to overzealous moderators and administrators who all but let it run amok with teenagers.

Not for lack of trying!!

Ummm, well, I've gotten in trouble here a few times! LOL And there was one time were I voluntarily left because I was annoyed with the way something was handled. But after cooling off, I returned, much to the dismay of a few people on here I'm sure!

I remember that.  lol

I used to be a moderator at UrbanPlanet.  I hated the way things were run over there.  The other moderators would instigate these ridiculous debates and suspend people who disagreed with them.  The quality of content eventually dropped in many areas and I requested to be demoted back to a regular member since I rarely checked the site and was fed up with people pm-ing their crybaby stories.  Many others also abandoned the site when the discussion became bland.  One of the other Michigan moderators who is cool doesn't even post there much anymore either.  I still make a few posts there maybe once every month if a thread comes up as interesting.

Seriously, there is more Ann Arbor-Detroit discussion on UrbanOhio than there is Michigan section on U/P.  And the discussion here has FAR more quality.

^This site has the best people. I love how everyone on this site is a friggin character and everyone is intelligent and informative. I know I've learned a lot from people on here. I hate going to forums and having to scroll through pages of bs that looks like an AIM conversation. Imo this site is the perfect balance between people goofing off and having a serious discussion.

^

The Dayton presence here has really faded so Im not here much, but yeah moderation on this site is pretty good and content quality high. I've had brief PM discussions with the moderators on one or two topics, so I appreciate where they are coming from in balancing tight-ship without squelching discussion.

One of the ironic online things is that a certain poster from SSC, who was banned twice from that board and I think once from SSP has apparently become the moderartor of the Louisville City-Data forum!    Which is actually somewhat good as even though s/he is still somewhat psycho the s/he is quite pro-city so a necessary balance to the suburban bias one finds at C-D.
