I remember there was a thread in early 2008 to discuss murder rates for each major Ohio cities for CY 2007; however, was there any for this year's?

 

If not, I'll start:

 

Toledo had 20 murders in CY 2008 up from 13 in CY 2007.  We have one murder so far for this year which a nephew stabbed and burned his own uncle to death which I am assuming it might be tied to money/drugs.  But he'/s innocent until proven guilty with a trial coming up.

Cleveland had about 133 in 2007. We came in at about 100 in 2008.

Cincinnati (purple years indicate years of the Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence program).

 

Youngstown had 39 homicides in 2007, and 28 in 2008.  Overall crime in Youngstown dropped 13% (IIRC) from 2007. (also, 2007 crime was down from 2006)  Only the number of vehicle thefts increased in 2008.
