Posted January 26, 200916 yr So Batman died in Final Crisis #6. For any comic book fans out there, who do you think will be the new Batman? There are a lot of potential replacements: Nightwing (Robin #1), Jason Todd (Robin #2), Tim Drake (the current Robin) Hush (and old friend/now wacko enemy of Bruce Wayne, Bane (the guy who broke Batman's back), Azrael (who replaced Batman in after Bruce Wayne's back was broken), Batgirl, Dr. Midnight (would be my choice), a member of the International Group of Heroes (or whatever they're called), and so on... And of course Bruce Wayne will return eventually, but at least in the interim, there will likely be a replacement.

January 30, 200916 yr Personally, I don't see any one of those guys taking up the cowl. I think Bruce will return after Battle for the Cowl and reclaim his title as Batman. However, IF someone other than Bruce is to become the new Batman, the obvious choice would be Dick. He's next in line. Tim would probably make for the best Batman (Bruce included), in a few years' time. The interesting thing is that it's the last thing he wants, and yet even he knows it's going to happen eventually.

February 5, 200916 yr Yeah, I just read Final Crisis #7. Guess Batman's "soul" is still alive or something. At least at Marvel they pretended Captain America (Steve Rogers) died for real. Of course, since he died there have been a number of Captain Americas including: 1. Ultimates Captain America Steve Rogers (alternative universe) 2. Bucky is the new Captain America (normal universe) 3. A time displaced Captain America Steve Rogers appeared in the Avengers/Invaders mini series (normal universe). 4. The Captain America of the 1950s who THINKS he's Captain America Steve Rogers has resurfaced (normal universe). 5. A reincarnated Hawkeye very briefly put on the costume (normal universe) But even with all that, Steve Rogers, the true Captain America, has been and is dead since his assassination. No soul reincarnation bullsht, no Superboy Prime beating reality's walls so that he's reincarnated, no it-was-a-clone/robot/dream. He is, for now, legitimately dead. Final Crisis 7 was such a cop out, and the whole new Batman Cowl series will just be moot when Bruce Wayne's soul flutters back to the present.

Actually, Steve's soul has made an appearance since his death. I don't remember the exact number, but it was in one of the recent Thor issues.
