Well, I'm new to the forum, so I thought I would introduce myself in this first post. I'm from the UK, but I will be travelling across America next month. I thought I would browse some forums for locations to visit on my travels :)

I will post up some reports from abandoned places in the UK.

First off, Denbigh Asylum  :-D

Denbigh Asylum is Grade II listed, and began being built back in 1844, and was ready for 200 patients on the 14th November 1848.

Overcrowding meant a few extensions were built in 1899.

The hospital now had facilities for around 1500 patients.

Denbigh closed its doors in 1995.

Prince Charles put the buildings under the protection of the Phoenix Trust.

Yes! Welcome!  I love these threads, and excellent photos.  I cannot believe how long that place was in operation.

What a splendid opening!  Welcome and I am looking forward to your pics!
