I'm living in New York for a few months, and thought I'd share a few photos of my new neighborhood: Morningside Heights.  These were taken on a few pretty dreary days, this weekend is calling for 56 degrees and sun though, so expect some much nicer shots soon!

1.) My aparment building, it's owned by Columbia U. which is 1/2 block away:

2.) Claremont Ave:

8.) Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the last shot I got before I was kicked out for using a tripod (if I had a dime for every time that's happened...):

9.) My street during a bit of snow, these flurries have nothing on Ohio:

10.) My street in the snow again:

Yeah more uptown pictures!

Yeah snow in NYC is nothing compared to Cleveland.

Columbia University is one of NYCs biggest slum lords, so if it's your landlord be careful.

^ I sublet the apartment from a professor who is out of the country on sabbatical, so I pay him directly, and it's only temporary (3 months).  I was amazed at how many buildings Columbia owns around the neighborhood though, basically two, three, four blocks out from campus in every direction!  My building seems to be mostly professor housing..

Cool pics man, thanks.

I love the building in #9.

Woooo NYC.

Very nice.

Yeah they own alot of units from 93 to 130 street.

When I first moved on NY there was an expose on NYC slum lords and Columbia was 1 or 2 on the list.  They've been on the upper portion of the list everytime it's been published.

thanks, great pictures. I noticed there's a lot of scaffolding around Riverside Church; but if you can get to the top of the Carillon (bell tower, whatever), the views are amazing! It's been years since I've been there, but well worth the visit.

I stayed a summer in this neighborhood at the I-House, just across from Grant's Tomb.  Great neighborhood.

Stunning photos!

^ And it hardly feels like one.

Wow, gorgeous neighborhood.  The snow makes all the photos look so serene.  Thanks!!

Excellent pics! Too bad you got kicked out of the Cathedral for using a tripod; it looks like you were on a roll, capturing some gorgeous shots there.
