Posted February 9, 200916 yr I had an event to attend on the UWS and here are a few pics. There are some ugly blocks on the UWS This is a beauty! Why? Just why? :wtf: I was so distraught I had to meet my coffee date here Whippersnappers, if you want a 400 Sq. Ft. apartment, here is one for rent Will and Grace anyone? Off to the cocktail party on Riverside Drive. All most cut a guy who walked up on me while taking this photo To the Subway and uptown
February 9, 200916 yr What can I say Apparently a whole bunch a mess! That's your MO. he he he he :-P
February 9, 200916 yr When did you take these? You obviously have a point and shoot but the lighting is good. Best time to take pics is right before dawn. Big cities also bring out more contrast though so it doesn't matter as much in that case.

February 9, 200916 yr Nice shots. I've found that the rent is a bit more affordable... ohhh 30-40 blocks north :-) My ~1000 sq. ft. 4 bedroom is about 1.5X that price! The differences in price from block to block in this city are amazing. I like the pictures though, and as was mentioned that's the perfect time of day to get city shots. Not so dark that you need a tripod, but just enough light in the air mixed with everyone inside turning their lights on. Dawn might provide some better daylight, but no one is awake yet/has their lights on, so you lose some of the busy-city feel.

I read some De Quincy and this thread reminded me of it. I think it's a great word to use since there's really no English equivalent for it. I'm far from a flamer but when I drink a lot of caffeine I can be a little obnoxious.
