That's what PA is all about.  Awesome!!

Wonderful set! Some of those towns I've seen, and the rest are on my must-see list! Good stuff.

I'm actually thinking of doing a Bellefonte/Tyrone/Altoona road trip and visit horseshoe curve and maybe try to get some street running action in Tyrone. I'll probably do a thread when I go.

Step2me, you were somewhat close to me when you were in Bellefonte.

If you're heading to Blair County, DJ Orion, Hollidaysburg is a can't miss

That was an architecture feast!

It's like an American Sheffield or Leeds.

Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't know it was so close to Altoona.  I'll have to add that place to the list.

Very cool state. Harrisburg looks like a mini DC.

Awesone pics!

It's neat to see a lot of the New England influence in the more eastern towns.

Excellent collection.

There's no "New England influence" in Eastern Pennsylvania... Eastern Pennsylvania was one of the original cultural hearths of Colonial America... developing a distinct pattern of urban development and architecture which was carried westward across the southern Midwest (by contrast, the New England hearth extended across Upstate NY and the Great Lakes region of the Midwest).

True! Cleveland and northern Ohio were part of Connecticut's Western Reserve, and Cleveland was founded by people from that state. Cincy is more the offspring of the Mid Atlantic.

yeah, yeah, yeah. just remember, you'll always be appalachia!

This is what 50 million gets you in Erie for a new convention center and hotel. Opened in 2007.

An old warehouse to condo conversion in downtown Erie currently under construction.

^ frankly that convention center is a perfect example of why cleveland's new one should remain in the mall buried under the ground!
