PC approves Deupree rezoning

http://www.building-cincinnati.com/2007/09/pc-approves-deupree-rezoning.html

In an update to a story I wrote on Friday, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports that the City Planning Commission has approved of the Episcopal Retirement Homes' rezoning request for its property at 3999 Erie Avenue in Oakley.

Episcopal plans to replace a vacant warehouse with two single-story cottages totalling 10,000 square feet on the 2.4-acre site.

Each cottage would house around 12 residents and would be staffed around the clock by up to 13 caregivers.

The property is currently zoned for manufacturing, which does not permit nursing homes.

The rezoning now must go to City Council for final approval.

Oakley’s Deupree Cottages now open for business

Retirement concept came from Green House Project

By James Ritchie | Cincinnati Business Courier, October 9, 2009

The first residents are moving into Deupree Cottages, a new project by Episcopal Retirement Homes, following its licensure as a 24-hour nursing care community.

Officials at Fairfax-based Episcopal Retirement plan to apply by the end of the year for certification so the cottages can accept Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement. Approval could come in mid-2010.

Completed during the summer on two acres adjacent to the Deupree House Retirement Community campus in Oakley, the cottages consist of two households, each with 10 private rooms and two suites, a hearth room, an open kitchen and a spa. Residents are not tied to schedules for going to bed, waking or eating.
