I'm relocating to Cincinnati in March and I was just wondering how the job market is in Cincinnati and surrounding areas...

LaRosa's on short vine is hiring drivers.

I guess that depends on what type of work you're looking for. Do you have a degree? What's it in?

In general Cincinnati's job market is doing pretty well, all things considered. Somebody who works at a Robert Half type company may have a little more insight. But I can tell you, that of my crowd (20-something, college degrees), I don't personally know of anybody who can't find gainful employment.

It really depends what market you're looking at and what your background is in.  Care to fill us in so that we might be able to give you a better answer?

It really does depend.  The job market is definitely not hot in Cincinnati.  People looking in Healthcare and Information Technology seem to have the best prospects.

If it is construction-related stuff. . . it is as rough here as anywhere, esp. if you were mostly trained in retail or home construction.

I'm a machinist but I'm looking for a career change. Sales maketing or Financial services advising.

Very difficult... my job is to find a job.. never give up..

It is more difficult to make career changes in this market.  You are competing against people who are already trained in the career field.  Many employers will higher the person with experience in the field because it is less risky.  It is definitely and employer's market right now---even in Cincinnati.  Everyday, I am hearing of yet another friend who was laid off in a variety of industries.
