Posted February 23, 200916 yr Yesterday I thoroughly explored the North Cass neighborhood in Midtown. I was surprised to find this isolated one-block historic district. Loved the brick road! BTW, you guys can expect many more neighborhood tours, I've been getting bored just going downtown lol
February 23, 200916 yr This is a stunning neighborhood. I'd like to see it some day. I agree, the cobblestone streets really set it off, especially with the creative pattern. It's unfortunate it costs 4x as much as asphalt to replace. I wish more tertiary residential streets looked like that.
February 23, 200916 yr The liquor store down the street has some cheap Amaretto. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 23, 200916 yr Those are only the cobblestones that weren't paved over. One of my favorite little micro-districts--and a dangerous little stumble from Motor City Brewing Co., Traffic Jam & Snugs and the always Amazing Mario's.
February 23, 200916 yr I think I saw a listing for that mansion (maybe it was a different one) for $22,000. Probably going to continue to fall in price because you'll get slammed with $350,000 in renovation costs.
February 23, 200916 yr I forgot something: I really like the street light poles. Notice how some houses have them in their front yards. That of course has a double meaning. I think this is some of the best residential architecture imo that I've ever seen.
February 26, 200916 yr It's so beautiful, it almost makes me cry when I think how much of now-devastated Detroit once had comparable grace and elegance. Excellent tour.
