Columbus-NEWARK?!?  :shoot:

Good Job, I like all the options!

Columbus-NEWARK?!?

Yes.

Columbus doesn't associated with the likes of Newark, (Well, at least until it becomes a suburb anyways...). Much like how Cincinnati doesn't associate itself with the likes of Hamilton or Middletown or those things.

Columbus should soon become a suburb of Newark

Grew up in Euclid

Went to Ohio State

Lived in Chicago, Pittsburg, Ohio City, Sandusky, Houston, Mobile, Jackson MS, was in Utah for 6 months

Now back in Chicago

Oh yeah, forgot Ann Arbor, but that just lasted 3 months

CMH I think Cincinnati does associate with Hamilton quite a bit.  Hamliton kids go to Cincinnati private schools and some Cincinnati northern suburb kids go to Badin (private Hamilton school).

ColDay forgot Mentor-Painesville & should of added Delaware to Columbus-Newark  :-D

edale...I was being facetious.

Oh, I don't really know where Newark is in relation to Columbus so I didn't quite pick of the sarcasm. In fact, I was thinking Newark, New Jersey when I first read the thread!...whoops

born in warren, OH

raised in detroit, MI (okay really ferndale)

currently live in cleveland heights

still call detroit home though

Springfield is so 20th century.  It should be Dayton-Springboro!

And while I see that the poll is very inclusive as far as terrestrial locations go, what about Jupiter?  WHAT ABOUT JUPITER??

the A 2 da K, duh :-D

. Yea!  even worse is lumping Cincinnati/Dayton...ughhhh!!

Zanesville!!! :banger:

Born in Ohio City , Cleveland. 3rd generation West Sider.

Avon Lake

Michigan (I generally claim Michigan as where I'm from)

Arkansas Ozarks

Kansas City

LA

Berkeley

SF

San Joaquin Valley

Memphis

Arkansas Delta

Since hanging out on this board, I have become extremely interested in Cincinnati, enough that I learned how to spell it ...

In order of appearance:

East Claridon

Reynoldsburg

Kilbourne/Ashley/Marengo (Kilbourne school, Ashley phone, Marengo Zip Code)

Columbus (Clintonville)

Baton Rouge, La

Those of you listing all the places you were born or raised or have lived--which one are you voting for in the poll?

By the way, for me:

Born in Dayton area (WPAFB specifically; lived in Beavercreek), but moved away one year later

Burke, VA (DC area)

Mililani, Hawaii

Back to Dayton for a long stretch

Since a month and a half ago, Madison, Wisconsin

If my family had not returned to Dayton, I'd probably be hesitant to say it's where I'm from, but since we did, it's definitely "home".

Lifelong Hoosier

Born in Fort Wayne

Started school in Decatur, family moved back to Fort Wayne and then to a farm near Bluffton

Graduated HS in Bluffton

Living in Fort Wayne now.

Rob, i think you get to claim ohio citizenship because of this board......

Hamilton's famous son is none other than Joe Nuxhall, youngest player to ever play in the Majors, for the Cincinnati Reds

Hey,i just learned that the tigers new coach, jim leyland is from perrysburg

Thank you, Your Holiness. I'll try to conduct myself in a manner deserving of the honor.

My Dad's ancestors did come to Indiana from Hocking County in the 1800s, and I grew up just 18 miles from the state line.

i think the poll should let you choose more than one option, for the people born in one city and living in another.

Those of you listing all the places you were born or raised or have lived--which one are you voting for in the poll?

I'm not telling you. Voting is a private & personal experience that require introspection. :-D

Mansfield-Mid Ohio (Because I didn't like the other choices Chris put together :-D)

Well, there is a thread about where you live now in the UrbanBar as well.  This is basically to see where everybody is FROM, not necessarily where they live.  I live in Columbus, currently, but I'm still from Dayton ;).

Hey now, that was supposed to a "describe the location where you live" thread, not "state the city in which you live."  You people have ruined it! You can all go to hell!! :-D

I'm surprised by Cleveland's poor showing in this poll so far.  All the Clevelanders here, yet only two of them are actually natives?

Pope and MayDay aren't originally from Cleveland.  Dunno about the rest ;).

On that poll I was split between Kentucky and "other states in the Midwest" since I'm a native Chicagoan, but though I am sort of an adopted Kentuckian, Chicago is my true home town...culturally I probably remain more a Chicago urban "ethnic" than a Kentucky person (aside for my love of bluegrass music and old folk ballads).

So I voted "other states in the Midwest".

I've Lived near Columbus (in Pickerington) for 12 years, but this will now be my fourth and final year as a gamecock in Columbia, SC--- school has been awesome, but it's about time to get the hell out of the South!!

^Ah Pickerington huh? I have relatives in Baltimore and come throught there all the time. Kind of like the Springboro of Columbus.

I was born at Good Samaritan and then lived in Sharonville for a few months.  My family then moved to Colerain Twp. and I lived in four houses within the township between then and when I turned 18.

I was raised in Amberly Village, lived at the Gramercy for several years, moved to Martin Dr. in Mt. Adams, then lived in Altamonte Spring, Orlando for three years, back to Mt. Adams on Oregon for over a year and here with my wife on Mulberry St. for the past couple of years ( wow, all that added up makes me old).  :|

Born raised in Cleveland (Shaker)

Rehprazentin German Village, Columbus. ;)

Born in Brook Park, moved to Hinckley when I was 5, then college in Cincinnati for a year (CCM), Cleveland for two years (CWRU), Eastlake for two years (Borromeo/John Carroll), then lived in Euclid for a year +, then Cincinnati since 1997...O'Bryonville, East Walnut Hills, Clifton and now Walnut Hills...

I voted for Cleveland/Elyria/Lorain, even though we were midway between Cleveland and Akron, because we always faced north - everything centered on Cleveland...

Hey, I was born at Good Samaritan as well....oh, wait, wrong city

Yeah...I should have mentioned it's the one in Cincinnati in Clifton.  There must be dozens of Good Sams around the country!

  • 2 weeks later...

Originally from Long Island, NY.  Also lived in Florida, Texas, Mississippi, California, Illinois and currently residing in the fine state of Ohio.

Cincinnati, then Mississippi, and now back in Cincinnati.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've lived in too many places.  My heart is in Ithaca, but my butt is in Maryland (outside DC).

where in MD Ex-Ith?

Near the Chesapeake Bay (Chesapeake Beach/North Beach area of the western shore).  I work in downtown DC. :-)

I was born and reared in Central Georgia (Barnesville).  I then moved to metro-Atlanta for three exhausting years.  Now I reside in Columbus, OH (Hilliard, OH area).  Love it here!

:shoot:Buh-bye South...
