This poll is missing an option for AMISH COUNTRY!

I'm originally from St. Marys, PA... which is in north-central PA.  Spent the last few years going to school at Penn State in State College, PA.  Now I live in Wooster (Amish Country).

I am a third generation Ohio City Native, born at Lutheran Hospital (West Side Cleveland) way back in the mid twentieth century. But I  claimed Michigan, because I grew up there. Have spent most of my adult life in California, but the years In Arkansas are adding up ...

Yay! Go Indiana!

born in utica, ny and live in houston.

I voted in this thread to make Chris happy.  See?  I posted on urban ohio.

From Dayton.

Been here in Sarasota, Fl since '84 , after 10 years in St.Joe, Mo. Would move back to Missouri ( Springfield) in a heartbeat, but my wife won't go back to winters.

bah, after walking through Columbus' German Village in freshly fallen snow tonight... there's no way I'll ever give up winters!

Strange, I was doing the same thing yesterday and I decided that I hate winter.  German village in the summer?  That sounds nice.

I guess I'll have to put myself down for Michigan... scary.. I think next year I'll have lived in both Michigan and Ohio for the same amount of time.

Bridgeport, Connecticut ... the home of P.T. Barnum, Robert Mitchum and John Ratzenberger (Cliff on "Cheers")

But that was many years ago..... the Clintonville neighborhood in Columbus is "home" now.

I have lived in Wheeling, West Virginia, which is right across the river from Ohio, my whole life.

Born in Old Brooklyn (an older suburb of Cleveland).

Moved to Stow, Ohio when I was four and grew up there.

Bowling Green for college.

South Bend, Indiana for a work after college for a few years.

Back to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for a few years.

Just moved to Lakewood, Ohio about a year ago, best place I've lived so far.

Just joined this forum, see my intro in the Where do you live? thread.

There are some flat streches of land:

But it's not all flat!  You just have to know the right places (i.e. the southside, and around the river valleys)

I like kingfish out of waters' avatar.

Thanks. I freely admit to lifting it off of some guy's Flickr photostream. I came across it whilst researching a design I have on Cafepress (that slogan is HILARIOUS when it's on the bumper of a car).

Praise be to Woody. The essential American.

^ You have the Billy Bragg/Wilco CD(s) of Woody Gutherie material by chance?

^

I do, plus some other Guthrie stuff (original & covers).

Also a Billy Bragg fan.

You have the Billy Bragg/Wilco CD(s) of Woody Gutherie material by chance?

Actually, no.  I'm familiar with the project, though. Strangest double bill I've ever witnessed: Billy Bragg opening up for Benini disco diva Angelique Kidjo at The Majestic Theater in Detroit (the scene of Houdini's last gig, by the way).

But I digress.

Isn't there more than one volume of the Guthrie tributes?

There are Mermaid Ave. and Mermaid Ave II (wouldn't be surprised if there are other tributes to Gutherie over the years, just that I'm familiar with the Bragg/Wilco material)
