Posted March 6, 200916 yr I am visiting Cincinnati next weekend, just for to go; no specific reason. Anyway, I have only been down there a couple of times, and am looking to do/see something different. I have been to Paul Brown Stadium (to see the Colts knock Carson Palmer around) and I have been to the area by UCincy. Oh, and Mt. Adams. So anyway, I am hoping to look poke around and see something new. I live in the Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis, and am hoping to visit something similar in Cincy. I also plan to eat at Camp Washington Chili. Anything else going on in Cincinnati next weekend? Oh, and how is the street parking downtown? Is it free?
March 6, 200916 yr You could find some free/cheap parking! And you won't go wrong with Camp Washington. Outside of Bockfest this weekend, Jan to April may be the dullest time to visit although that really depends on your interests. Are you looking for bars, the arts, sports, etc.? http://downtowncincinnati.com/ http://www.cincinnatiusa.com/ If you've never been to Union Terminal, I highly recommend it! Some events for next weekend. St Patty's day parade is one. Just plug in the dates you will be here. http://www.cincinnatiusa.com/DTCALENDAR/calendar.asp
March 6, 200916 yr Make sure you stop by the Mt Adams neighborhood. At night if you're looking for a bar scene, or during the day if you just want to appreciate a great urban hill-top neighborhood.
March 6, 200916 yr St. Patrick's Day in Downtown Cincinnati (live music 3/13 starts @ 5pm on Fountain Square) http://www.urbancincy.com/2009/03/st-patricks-day-in-downtown-cincinnati.html Self-Guided Walking Tours of Downtown Cincinnati http://www.urbancincy.com/2008/11/self-guided-downtown-walking-tour.html http://downtowncincinnati.com/cgi-bin/tourMap.cgi You should also take a stroll up to the Gateway Quarter in historic Over-the-Rhine. The renovated buildings are amazing and the unique independent stores are even cooler. Get more information on that here - http://www.gatewayquarter.com/. Also get up and check out the Carew Tower Observation Deck ($2) for breathtaking open-air views of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
