How young are you kids?  Sheeeesh! :-P

That's the old Howard Johnsons.  Do a search, as there is discussion about it here on UO

The other side reveals mostly glass (or what USED to be glass I believe)

There's also some great photos of the Howard Johnson's here on UO. The hotel was built only a couple of years before I was.

The building across from Gus. Galluccis is terrible...how can they let that stand?  There are also some eyesoards on St. Clair.

It was there long before GG's.  Hopefully some of these buildings will be redeveloped.  I don't want to see them torn down.

How about the north and east facades on 1211 St. Clair Ave.

Other than that, there are a couple eyesores that stand out to me:

- Every single office park along I-271 (Progressive, Chagrin Highlands, etc).

- The south facade of the Landmark Office buildings (beautiful building I'm sure... underneath all that grime).

- Christie's cabaret on the west bank (only until you walk inside)

- The current state of the FEB

- The surface lots separating the WHD from public square

- Peter B. Lewis Building (IMHO)

Even the pink flamingos?  :?

Parma. Period.

The endless bungalows are either mind-numbing garbage or artwork not unlike printed circuit boards when viewed from the air.

But I think Parma's ethnic churches are quite amazing considering how new they are. Very European or inner-city Cleveland.

At one time it was quite nice, featuring a top floor "Red Coach Grill", Howard Johnson's high end offering, with a view of the lake.  We also lost the lofty view at Top of the Town (38th floor of the Erieview Tower), which closed years ago.  Maybe we could do one atop Key Tower, lol.  I always enjoyed having a drink or dinner above it all.

I second the united house of prayer. It looks like it was copied from a wing of Excalibur in las vegas.

Lol, yeah, that's where you can find me.  The only upside of this building is that there are lots of windows, so it doesn't feel so lab-esque.  However, they spent so much on the early 90's aesthetic of the building, that they could only afford one elevator in the end....  Now that one elevator has been broken for a month (with no end in sight), which leaves us with tired legs and absolutely no way to transport gas tanks or any other heavy research materials (chemicals, etc).....

In no particular order...

-  The strip mall across the street from the West Side Market, including the ridiculous ATM Tower at the actual corner.  How dare they think they are "fitting in."

-  Surface lot on Public Square.

-  Cleveland Clinic front lawns.

-  The continued destruction of structures along Euclid.

That's near the top of my list too.  That thing is offensive in so many ways.

Its days may be numbered, but The Triangle development at UC has been  a major, major eyesore since the day it opened.

My eyesore list:

1. The shutdown and falling apart gas station at E. 105th and Chester. The block that connects Cleveland Clinic to University Circle.

2. The corner of Coventry and Cedar (Cleveland Heights) - such potential and it's a field of dirt and grass.

3. The used car lot on Detroit and approx. W. 45th. More prime land AND views wasted.

4. All the surface lots in the WHD including Stark's building, "Titanic Tower" I believe it's called. Underneath it is the real building, but that facade is ugly as hell.

5. The Goodyear building at Prospect And E. 14th. Probably the biggest damn eyesore in town.

Anything on Mayfield heading east past Severance.  Makes me ill.

Old and broken down I can tolerate, but when somebody builds a brand new piece of horrific stupidity it is simply unforgiveable...

I give you Club Cleveland

And, it's evil twin, Christies Cabaret*

*so disgustingly tacky, cannot even find it on google.

I can agree with Christie's, that building is hideous.

My eyesores include:

1)  All the boarded up, gutted out homes in neighborhoods citywide.  After all the progress the city made within the last 10 to 15 years regarding neighborhood rehabilitation, we end up with empty neighborhoods which may very well take years to renew again.

2)  Surface parking lots downtown- I know, Stark's plan fell through, but dammit...

3)  The Scranton Peninsula.  Proposing a convention center which would be facing this barren patch of land?  Nice view for out-of-towners.

All the empty spaces where large and glorious apartment buildings used to be.  Their eyesore value increases when you see old pictures.

Great pic at the law school of this.  One of rows of houses where I think the Post Office, Tri-C, and the interchange are (around Pittsburgh and E.30th).

I know the one you mean.  The law school is great for historical pictures.  The collection of old post cards has some great shots in it.  My favorite one depicts what used to be where NCB HQ is now.  Also they have pictures of all the different buildings that once housed the law school.  All of them cool looking, all of them gone.
