Posted March 8, 200916 yr To walk across the Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic, you fall in love. It is a fairytale city, nothing compares to the marvels of it. Prague was treasured by the Germans and not touched during the war. It is one of the only fully preserved big cities cities of the pre-war era. I LOVE PRAGUE!!! Czech it out!

March 8, 200916 yr It was awkward at times, yet there are many students and now residence of color living throughout Eastern Europe. The most difficult was Krakow, Poland, I was stared at and pointed at by children and older residence, but i think it was more curiousity. I speak fluent German which helped out immensely! Germany is the easiest to get around and most diverse of the places I visited. There are actually pockets of Berlin that are primarily people of color; I was able to go to a barbershop! lol Thanks for asking!

The Soviet Block countries you do feel out of place, and for many of those people its the first time they've seen a person of color up close in person who is not a celebrity or athlete.

March 9, 200916 yr I visted Prague in 1998 and agree that it was quite a beautiful city. Another amazing thing is how some parts of the city are almost frozen in time from the years of Communist rule. Many cars are still from the 50-60s. March 10, 200916 yr There is a huge square in the center of Prague, it has an astrological clock. Prague also had a famous Jewish community named Josevo, there were several synagogues and a cemetery there. I have included pictures. You can see how it is over-crowded and even damaged during the ghettoization of the area. The synagogue was underwater a few years ago due to river flooding. With respect, I hope you enjoy!
