I just finished off a box of Hot & Spicy Cheez-It's.  Which happens to be my third box this week.

I just asked what we should get for lunch and the guys sent me this:

I saw that today too, extremely gross.

FYI the site is work-safe, it's just gross pictures of way too much food.

Well as a carnivore, the Mega Mel and the Pizza Cone look de-lish!

Put me down for a porkgasm.

I looked at that.  The ingredience are sweet combo, but even I'd have to limit a few.

The deep fried grill cheese looks awesome, add some thick cut bacon and that is a world class sammich!

how many pages does this go on?!?! I had to stop. I will never eat bacon again!

HUSH!! I love me some bacon.  ;)

Right? :)

No surprise the Thurmanator made the list. I know that it is a regular menu item there too.

All that I have to say is people are creative when it come to gluttony

I know.  Did you see the "The Meat Ship"??

That looks like an uncooked pirate mess.

Exactly what it says, its a pirate ship made out of meat. Yum.

The most disturbing one to me for somereason was the Spam meatloaf with the Velvetta center then topped with Velvetta.

^That the most disturbing one is the Spam covered and filled with Velvetta, I would assume.

Meat Cake. Mmmmmmm

I lost 10 pounds in February simply by running out of Power Bars and Gatorades.  I had been buying them steadily from Sam's Club for over a year, and now that I think of it often eating 3 bars a day and drinking two Gatorades.  Do the math...that's something around 800-900 calories a day or easily 1 pound per week.  It's a strange feeling waking up feeling lighter almost every day, especially when I haven't exercised outside of my regular bike commuting.

Im going to have the most awesome grill cheese sandwich this weekend!

Towards mid-winter, I was still craving 3,000-5,000 calorie days, eating pretty much everything in sight, because I burn that much off while cycling. But since it was so damn cold, I refused to ride, and in the process, gained 10 lb. I pretty much went on a diet (and if anyone looks at me, you'd know I'm already pretty small to begin with!!) and have lost 5 lb., the rest going to muscle. Bring on more warmer days!!!

Yeah you look pretty small, how tall are you and how much do you weight?

5'8". I'm normally at 120-125 lb., but I ballooned to 135 lb.

Oh you are tiny little thing.  I don't think 135 lb. is alarming.  People probably don't notice.  You'll be fine!

Oh, it's not that (although the chick from the date last night said I was really fit). It's for cycling. The more weight I add on, the harder I have to push myself to go that extra mile.

My food intake is not a lot, because I get preoccupied with projects and either forget to eat, or do something quick just to keep going. I think some days my intake was in the neighborhood of 1,000 - 1,200 calories.

The ongoing after effects of intensive radiation and chemo more than ten years ago have changed a lot of things, too, including the suppression of hunger awareness and the destruction of my thyroid gland. I've thought for more than three years that it had quit altogether, and finally a couple of months ago, the doctors decided I needed synthroid. The improvement in my mood and energy level has been remarkable, and it has kicked up my metabolism, too.

Last week I stepped on the scale and came up 131 lbs. I'm just a tad over 5'10" and that's the lowest weight I've been in more than 40 years. I decided to get to work on that, and now I'm up to 135. To sustain my level of physical activity, I need to add about five more.

Since I stopped drinking 14 cups of coffee my weight has fluxuated by 10 lbs.

Now I eat junk food so that I don't drink coffee.  I'm hooked on hot and spicy cheez-it's.

Two Sandwiches of Knowledge to go, please.

Caffeine is a prime ingredient of most diet pills because it works as an appetite suppressant (and is also why a lot of diet pills aren't good for people with heart conditions).

Yeah I know.  On both counts.

However, those extra 15 minutes on the treadmill take a toll on my old bones.  Now that I don't drink coffee, I actually have to work out when I go to the gym instead of just hitting up the machines.  I now have to pick up the free weights and sweat.

My freshman year in college, one of the guys on my floor decided he was going on the Slim Fast diet. Ironically, he was from Shaker. Anyway, after about a month I ask him how he's doing, and he complains that he's put on weight. "I don't understand. I followed the instructions. A shake with breakfast and a shake with lunch, then I eat a big dinner."

Gee, I can't imagine why you're not losing weight!  chickendance.gif

Vanity is pain!  LOL

What an IDIOT!

I actually drink Slim Fast's during cycling season for the nutrients and calories, etc. Not bad tasting either.

As my Gramz would say, "Chile' you need some Oatmeal!  That's what you need!  You're so thin, you're going to melt away to nothing.  Now sit down and eat!"

I was at a buffet not long ago. Obese mother to her obese child behind me: "Eat up, I'd like to have a healthy kid, not an skinny one."

Gee thanks, b!tch. I'm not wasting away or dying here. I'd love to see your obese bottom get on a bike and go 30 miles. Damn kid alone had 4 massive plates of food in the time it took me to eat two small plates.

Why are you judging people?  :wink2:

This is a recent image from Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville at the Cincinnati Horseshoe Casino:

Nachos turn so quickly, i don't even know why youd want a plate so big.

I'm pretty sure we're looking at at least 5,000 calories.

That website seems to have devolved into an advertisement for lame corporate gimmick meals.  Nearly everything on there is from a chain.

Dude attempts to eat 10,000 calories on Christmas day...his weight increases from 177lbs to 186lbs by the time he goes to bed, then goes down to 180lbs the next morning.  So he gained a true 3 lbs in just one day.

That's about right.  It's something like 3,000 or 3,500 calories to make up a pound of fat.

I always thought it was interesting to read the lost weight subreddits on reddit and see that the individual actually decided to make a serious effort after being "fat shamed" one too many times ... I agree, I don't think this is probably the best way to get someone motivated, but there seems to be a lot of people out there that make the decision after being fat shamed.

Thoughts?

I've gone through many different stages.  I've been 220-230 lean with very little body fat (college), and 220-230 not-so-lean (mid-20s).  In my 30's, I now float between 175-190, sometimes in very good shape and sometimes in so-so shape depending on the amount and type of exercises I'm doing.

Different things work better for different people, but as far as eating is concerned, I find portion size matters more than what I eat.  My biggest problem seems to be when I plateau and stop seeing the same gains I do in the first 2-3 months of getting after it.  As I get older, I find that my plateau is much lower than it was in my 20's and same type of muscle gains seem more out of reach.  I lose some motivation and get content, which leads me to exercise less and eat less frequently (but bigger portions) throughout the day.

I never go on reddit but when someone changes their life it can because finally someone says something in a way that clicks.  Sometimes being humiliated in front of people is what motivates someone or simply seeing a photo of themselves and seeing that they're starting to look like their fat uncle.

I was one of those guys who was always super-skinny as a teenager who thought I was eating whatever I wanted but I really wasn't.  We didn't have a lot of healthy food growing up but we didn't have a lot of junk food either.  At some point around age 19 or 20 I started eating pizza every day in the college cafeteria and got kind of hooked on pop and that has been my vice ever since.  In 2014 I finally kicked my pop habit (2-4 cans of Coke per day) and went about 18 months without drinking any.  I only lost about 3-4 pounds though.  In Nov 2015 I had a relapse and got back into drinking 2-4 cokes per day but I didn't really gain any weight in 2016.  I do at least one long bike ride per week where I burn 1,000-2,000 calories which has a big effect on keeping weight off.  If I miss a week or two I get pretty cranky and can feel myself getting out of shape.  I just can't believe all of the people out there who never go outside for a walk or bike ride...if I didn't have to work I'd be doing it every day!

I guess I was kinda lucky, I guess??? For some reason I'm just not a fan of carbonated beverages ... Therefore I do not drink any types of sodas.

Apparently Target.com assumes that anyone looking at bathroom scales is a woman who would love to get down to precisely 126.4lbs:

That's really interesting, JMeck. I wonder if 126.4 is the average or considered ideal weight according to standards set with BMI for a woman who is 5'4 (the average height of a woman.)
