I have always been a fan of this site; and after lurking for quite some time, I have decided to contribute. I now present to you Fountain Square, Indianapolis style. Fountain Square is approximantly one mile south east of Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis and while I don't think of it as being downtown; many of my suburban friends refer to it as downtown. When I tell people I live in Fountain Square the reaction is typically, "Oh, you live downtown?"

So anyway, here is my neighborhood, Fountain Square.

(I apologize for the blurriness of some the pictures. I don't have a tripod, and I was walking my dog. I am an amateur after all.)

The main square area looked amazing at night during Christmas.

^Indeed.

The diner at that square is fantastic, btw.  Welcome!!!

What a cute neighborhood!

Welcome to Urbanohio.com from another Indiana resident (I refrain from saying Hoosier because some take offense. Personally, I don't mind). I'm in Fort Wayne.

I get to Indianapolis every now and then, but I really haven't gotten out into the neighborhoods very much in recent years. I should do that; thanks for putting up the photos.

Nice!  That's for sharing your photos and welcome to the forum!  I visited Indianapolis and spent the night there when I was traveling from Columbus to LA and was really impressed with many areas of the city.  The downtown area was particularly impressive as well as Broad Ripple and the houses on Meridian heading north.  Didn't get to check out Fountain Square but it looks like and interesting part of town... especially that main square area!

The business district looks pretty interesting.

Welcome to UrbanOhio, and thanks for showing us your neighborhood.  It has a really cool neighborhood center, and some nice housing stock, too.

Like that square! Wouldn't mind more pics of that. I noticed Indy neighborhoods have some interesting sounding names like Arsenal Heights and Tuxedo Park. Wouldn't mind seeing Irvington here sometime.

First and foremost; thank you all for the kind words.

I don't mind Hoosier; though I prefer Indianan or Boilermaker! I walked through a neighborhood in Fort Wayne this summer near downtown and then downtown itself last summer. I was pleasently surprised by what I saw. Having spent far more time in Evansville and southern Indiana than northern, I didn't know what to expect.

I love the houses in Irvington; that is going to be next on my progressive neighborhood photographing journey of Indianapolis. Well, maybe I will go with the lesser known Bates-Hendricks; I can walk there.
