^How so?  Does one group tweet out the movie they are going to and the other decides to show up and sit right behind them to kick their chair?  Seems like it was easier back in the day when you would just plan a fight in the parking lot behind Wendy's.  Kids make things so complicated these-a-days....

The rumors that the brawl last week was planned or caused by social media have been debunked, btw

Getting in a fight at a festival or causing mayhem at a festival because there is "nothing to do" when you are literally at a festival with activities is quite something.  I used to be a big skat

Thats exactly how.  It's just like when we were kids, only easier.  Determining location is only a matter of keystrokes.

Not like when I was a kid.  I never planned to meet up with people who were not my friends at a movie theatre.  I can't remember theatre gatherings being a thing.... especially not theatres on the other side of town.

Maybe, but there is also Richmond, East Gate, and probably some more that are a lot closer than Valley View.  Certainly it is possible that two different set of teens from CH were sitting in the same theatre, in consecutive rows...... just not very likely.

Look, I was just relaying what the cop told me.  You don't have to believe it if you don't want to.

I only brought it up because it was a personal experience I'd had with disruptive teens at the same movie theater.

In 2015 with social media, it is very likely....

It was actually about a year ago (end of 2013), and I don't think what I witnessed was coordinated at all.

Keep in mind that the most bitter of enemies have mutual friends, especially on Facebook.  Person A can be on B’s friends list but actually tight with C, while B and C hate each other.  So C knows what B has planned and/or where they are….

^^I wasn't saying I don't believe you.  I was simply noting the odd coincidence

^Sure.  It's just odd that a movie theatre would be the place they would plan to meet up.  You don't have to pay $11.50 to get into a fight.  You can do that for free at some park.

So the "you stepped on my Jordan's" story about how the Beachwood Mall fight started is not true.  Why do people bother making this silly nonsense up?

So what was the good reason for the fight?

(facepalm) Is there ever a good reason for getting into a fight at the mall on the holidays?  It wasn't the Jordan's.  We could toss out a few more though just for the heck of it and see how far it spreads through the keyboard crowd.  Maybe one girl was dating the other's baby daddy?  Maybe one took the last piece of gubment cheese out of the other's fridge without permission?  Maybe they both showed up to the mall rocking the same weave?

No, no there isn't ever a good reason.  It seemed to me from you post that you think there was something less stupid than "someone stepped on someone's Jordans" going on.  My guess is the real reason won't sound any better.

90% of fights among younger women seem to be over a guy.

They are also much much harder to break up than guy fights.  Most guys don't want to fight but won't be seen backing down unless they have an excuse, such as being separated.  Women, once they decide to fight, are relentless.

Honestly, I don't see the hand wringing about this. When I was a teenager, rivals from different schools used to congregate at a couple of different fast food restaurants on a main drag, or the bowling alley. They'd arrive after sporting events and sometimes there was grumbling and sometimes shouting. I was actually arrested for inciting a riot at the Burger King because me and another girl got into it when I asked her what she was looking at, and we took it outside and then all my friends ended up fighting all her friends. AKA a rumble, just like they had in the 50s. This is not the end of civilization or a hallmark of kids from a particular neighborhood being troublemakers, this is society continuing as it always have, if you ask me.

FWIW I only go to the movies a handful of times a year and often go to that cinemark and have never experienced any problems.

"Misguided youth rumbles' are not as scary as 'thugs riots'

Just about anything sounds better than some random people getting into a fight because one scuffed the others Jordan's

Probably not. "The same person posted videos online of all three fights" probably just means the same person found or received the videos and posted them on their own account with whatever service they're using. You see this all the time on Youtube where someone will just republish a video, but have the social media capital or wherewithal to promote it better and have it go "viral" over the original source. Or, even if the original does make it big in viewing numbers the republished ones can skim views and revenue from the original.

That makes a lot more sense and is far less problematic.

If posting videos of 14 year old girls fighting is his thing, this guy would've loved having a feed into the security cams at my high school back in the day.

Winter doldrums got them depressed and doing crazy stuff...

OK, what's the real reason? If someone gets that depressed by the weather, then go to a tanning spa or take a trip south before killing someone.

The link has been updating. Apparently they were business partners. The suspected shooter was found dead in a hotel room in Westlake of an apparent suicide. No explanation what they were doing on a residential street in Lakewood.

Cleveland.com blew up with that, but it's not what it means.  Even I knew that (yeow).

They are now saying that Shine was after one person in particular, I wonder if he's somehow connected to Ware.

Hmm, Cleveland.com's vendetta against Cleveland Heights must be over if they buried an armed robbery on Coventry in the police blotter:

Aggravated Robbery, Coventry Road: At 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 9, two women leaving Bodega were robbed by a man who got into their car with a gun and told them to give him their money and phones.

^Ferrise is now covering the Akron area for NEOMG

^So true- I had definitely noticed the big uptick in Akron crime reporting making it to the front [web] page.  NEOMG is a very strange animal.

Some closure, if any can really be had, from this nightmare.
