Just south of Bexley is Berwick, which is a wealthy residential neighborhood with a large orthodox Jewish and Black population. The streets grid is urban, yet curvy, similar to Upper Arlington's. Northwest is very similar to Bexley while the rest is made up of signature wide, flat homes that are typical here. The less said about the commercial street the better.

Now you know why.

If 60s/70s style homes aren't your style, you may not be too crazy about Berwick, although it's good enough for the mayor to call home.

IMO this is one of the best neighborhoods in Columbus not so much because my family once lived there but because of its diversity and how quite it was and its location in relation to everything.

true. strange how utterly suburban it is around there so close to downtown. but columbus is growing, this is what people want. well, some people.

Not really my style, but probably a pleasant place to live for people who like deep setbacks and large lots/lawns. It shows how nice and established a suburban-style development can look after the landscaping has had several years to grow in.

Doesn't the mayor live there?

Yeah the mayor at least used to lived there, I don't know if he does now.

The fourth pic down looks like it should be a Huntington bank!

thanks for the set.  Looks UA-esque, especially with the apparent lack of sidewalks.

Yes, the mayor does live here. It seemed like people didn't mind walking in the road, from a mother with a baby-stroller to a group of teenage girls everyone seemed fine with it. With all the money in the area it's too bad residents don't want it to have its own downtown like that of Bexley.

Very nice, thanks for showing a rarely seen area.

I live close to this area. You can get trapped in the suburban street vortex real easy in some parts of Berwick.

That bar WOOFs with the bear sign in the first picture appears to be closed, but looks like it was shady as hell when it was open.

I did get trapped for a bit. And yes, a leather bear bar probably would look shady.

Looks pleasant.

Honey, I know you're into leather.  That was the real purpose of this "trip" wasn't it??

No one would believe you if you said you were just here to take pictures anyway. And it's so convenient to the bike path.

Umm - Humm.  You're just a freak on the low.  LOL
