Spent a pleasant day in Montepulciano - located about half way between Firenze and Rome.  It is a typical Tuscan hill town - settled by Etruscans, later the Romans and now it specializes in Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wine and Pecorino cheese.  Nearly every shop in the center part of town contained Etruscan tombs in the cellars.

Is it wrong for me to have a vision of an earthquake while looking at these photos (God forbid)?

"You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

I don't think so.  A lot of Italy's hill-side towns resemble this.  However, the quakes usually never do much damage north of Rome (at least I don't think).

Great shots, too.  Did you get a cheap flight?

Great pics!  and great wine!

Beautiful little town.

Stunning. I could live in an environment.

Beautiful setting...reminds me of many of the Greek villages I recently visited.

Wow.

Fiat 500 - what Fiat will bring over if they deal with Chrysler!

Beautiful. Places like that should serve as eye-openers for North Americans; we think a house from the early 1800s is old.

You caught that quick...I had that up for about 2 seconds! Can you see the video now?

I like Hooverphonic. And Montepulciano.
