April 19, 200916 yr The Rockets put a serious a$$ whipping on the young Blazers, many an experts' choice for the team with the best chance of knocking off the Lake Show.
April 19, 200916 yr The rockets are a sleeper. But we should not count out the spurs. I know it sounds crazy but i've said it before, the "odd years" championship is in their favor and they get there act together for the playoff. They should not be discounted. I think Miami will upset the Hawks.
April 20, 200916 yr wow. Philly upsets Orlando. The Sixers were down 18. Will the underdogs, take it to the top seeds or will the the higher ranked teams respond in game two? BTW, why the hell is Mike Woodson wearing that big gaudy ring???
April 20, 200916 yr The Lakers looked very strong today against the Jazz. IMO, they are the team to beat in these playoffs.
April 20, 200916 yr The Lakers looked very strong today against the Jazz. IMO, they are the team to beat in these playoffs. Of course, the media has made us the underdog, so the finals matchup will appear more epic.
April 23, 200916 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/highschool/rise/basketball/boys/news/story?id=4090570 This kid is skipping his senior year of HIGH SCHOOL to go play pro in Euorpe. First ever. Can't say I blame him.
April 23, 200916 yr Do we really need to wait until June for the Cavs to play the Lakers? My suggestion is for the Cavs and Lakers to play each other in some abandoned warehouse and declare the team which won four games first as the champs. Since the NBA, in its "wisdom", has provided these two- and three-day breaks between games in the first round, that gives ample opportunity for the warehouse games to be played! :-P "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

April 28, 200916 yr Nuggets 121, Hornets 63 Nuggets match most lopsided win in NBA playoff history to take 3-1 lead The Nuggets tied the record for top playoff blowout with a 58-point pasting of the Hornets ... in New Orleans. http://espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=290427003 Nice effort Hornets

Just nasty. At one point they were up 39 points in the second quarter. I feel bad for CP3, this team, on paper, looked to be in the run for the West Championship game. The NBA playoffs - where amazing happens! ::)
April 28, 200916 yr But I didn't see an opposing team on the court. Hornets? Were they even there? Actually, I'm surprised the Cavs didn't beat the Pistons by a similar amount given that their starters seemed to have quit like the Hornets did. Only the Pistons' bench kept it from being a total laugher. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

The coach should get canned.
April 28, 200916 yr LA is going to have its hands full in the west. Dirty Denver has surprised me. The Bulls & Dallas are playing "scared", which is dangerous for anyone. The Hawks & Magic are playing inconsistently as they have played all year. I hope all these series go 7 games so the Cavs can get some rest.
April 28, 200916 yr I hope all these series go 7 games so the Cavs can get some rest. Rest and we don't run the risk of injuries. Lebron could sprain his ankle on any given play. That's what scares me the most.

That's what scares me the most. True. I'm just saying in General, we get an opportunity to "rest" and better prepare for our next opponent.

The coach should get canned. Even though he has a good career record and took the Nets to the Finals, I've read tons of articles about B. Scott being a total d!ck. Thus, if his players did quit on him, it wouldn't surprise me.
May 1, 200916 yr How many times can Boston and Chicago go into OT. its tied at 101 with 4.4 sec. left in regulation. Sheesh! Come on Chicago. Take this to game 7!
May 1, 200916 yr Did Rondo get in a fight w/ someone? I just clicked on espn.com and it showed a picture of him being separated from some Bulls players.
May 1, 200916 yr Did Rondo get in a fight w/ someone? I just clicked on espn.com and it showed a picture of him being separated from some Bulls players. Yeah but he didn't get suspended. Boston/Chicago - second overtime ... the second time in this series. Can someone get Paul Pierce outta here?? Puh-lease?!
May 1, 200916 yr Did Rondo get in a fight w/ someone? I just clicked on espn.com and it showed a picture of him being separated from some Bulls players. Check Youtube for the video. He and Hinrich got tangled up on a box out and Rondo grabbed and tossed Hinrich into the scorers table. Then when Hinrich came at him, he ran away screaming for his mother to help him. He didn't get ejected, but I think he should get suspended for game 7.
May 1, 200916 yr I hate Rondo...he is a little B#$^%. I love that he got swatted at the end of the game...and i cant wait for Lebron to dunk over him (if they make it). Boston sports need to go away...just like their people...they all play dirty, have bad attitudes, and piss me off. Nevertheless...you HAVE to love the NBA playoffs...this is only the first round!
May 1, 200916 yr I just watched it on nba.com. If the Bulls are getting killed in game 7, I hope Brad Miller clothes-lines him, ala McHale/Rambis
May 5, 200916 yr Rockets 100, Lakers 92 Whoaaa!!!! Maybe Yao's first round jinx is over. His first round jinx is definitely over, since they beat Portland...but ive been saying this on here all along...100 is LAL magic number, if they cant score 100 they will lose because they arent good enough defensively to win that game. Houston will be an extreme headache for the lakers becuase they play such good D. You cant rely on talent and scoring alone to win an NBA title...defense has to be a large part of your game plan.
May 5, 200916 yr Also, Houston has two legit defenders in Battier and Artest. Both guys can guard Kobe on the perimeter. This is a tough match-up for the Lakers.
May 5, 200916 yr Also, Houston has two legit defenders in Battier and Artest. Both guys can guard Kobe on the perimeter. This is a tough match-up for the Lakers. Sorry.. The flu defended Kobe not Shane. Lets be real here.

The flu defended Kobe not Shane. Lets be real here. With the proper game plan, both of those guys can guard Kobe. Just like Detroit did in the NBA finals that they won. Kobe, although a great player is past his prime, and this is not his year, its Lebron's year. Houston prides itself on defense and Adelman knows Kobe too well. He will give him fits all series. I cant see the lakers winning this NBA title.
May 9, 200916 yr That's because the last person made in Atlanta was General William T. Sherman. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
May 9, 200916 yr As I've said before, burn it down to the ground! (How long before Peachtree city shows up to defend the south??) LOL
May 11, 200916 yr Man what a good day for us Ohioans. Rockets slam Lakers (series 2-2) and Boston beats Orlando to extend the series even more (also series 2-2) But just win tonight baby!
May 11, 200916 yr Man what a good day for us Ohioans. Rockets slam Lakers (series 2-2) and Boston beats Orlando to extend the series even more (also series 2-2) But just win tonight baby! thats exactly what I want. The other teams to play at least 6 games. Cavs please get the "w" tonight so that you can come home and rest! Neither Boston or Orlando will be easy, nor will we sweep the EC.
May 11, 200916 yr Wow! Just realized someone deleted my quote from Sherman. I can't imagine why. I intend to make Georgia howl. --William Tecumseh Sherman of Lancaster, Ohio
May 11, 200916 yr Sorry.. The flu defended Kobe not Shane. Lets be real here. What was defending Kobe yesterday? :)

May 11, 200916 yr Battier was a STUD yesterday. Not only was i impressed with his leadership (they showed him in the pre game huddle saying "Come on, we can beat these guys!!") But then comes out and makes it rain all over the floor with threes while face guarding Kobe. I usually dont like Duke basketball players, but ill give the man his props.

May 11, 200916 yr Does anyone have insider information as to when the NBA Finals would start? I know according to NBA.com, it says June 4th on ABC. Is that official or could they start earlier - anyone know? I ask because I'm supposed to be out of town that week and may have to change vacation plans.
May 11, 200916 yr depends on schedule... but it almost always starts the 1st week of June. Last year it started June 5, 2 years ago, it started June 7, and 3 years ago June 8
May 13, 200916 yr LA crushes Houston. I guess Kobe & co. aren't ready to die? Orlando, ugh, they just don't have the winner mentality or killer instinct. I think the Cavs match up better with Boston anyway.
May 13, 200916 yr ^ I want to play Boston, and then I want to play LA. I think it would be SWEET if we won the championship by beating the two most storied NBA franchises. In addition, we have to avenge last years loss to Boston. Make no mistake, I will take whatever I can get, but beating Orlando and Denver to win the NBA championship just doesnt have the same ring as beating Boston and LA. You are correct though, I think the cavs match up better with Boston.

May 13, 200916 yr See you're playing right into the hype. Does it matter who you play as long as you get a W and championship? Yes. I want them to win the Finals just like everyone else, but I don't want them to win it with an easy battle. It's not the same.
