I will be in Cleveland for a long weekend and I will be staying at the Wyndham Playhouse Square and was looking for a bar to watch the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.  It could be either a bar near the Wyndham, or gay bar, or both . . . which would be optimum.  I will not have a car so I'd need to be able to walk there, take a cab, or take the light rail options.

Thank you for your suggestions

The Barley House is a good bar that is having a watch party.  It would be a roughly 15 minute walk, or you could take cab.

From their site:

Let's get ready to cheer the Browns on their next run to the playoffs!!! Beer Pong, cornhole, Madden Tournament

Be Sure To Be Here For The Meet And Greet With The Browns Players

$3.50 25 oz Bud Light Drafts Thru The Entire First Round Of The Draft.....

Hmm...E.4th Street comes to mind right away, which is three blocks away. I'd beat Corner Alley or Flannery's Pub would for sure have the draft with a decent crowd.

you may also want to try Bob Golic's Sports bar on W.6th ...http://www.bobgolics.com/

None of those are considered gay bars though.

I'm also not sure of any gay bars... but the closest places to watch the draft would probably be either the clevelander or Winking Lizard.  both of these places can be had by walking around the back of the Wyndham and up Huron Road until you reach East 9th street.  The clevelander is your pretty standard wood bar beer joint.  There is a tribe game at 7 and this is right behind the ballpark so it should be a nice crowd (particuarly with the weather they are prediciting), and they have a good tv set up.  Winking Lizard is your standard chain / sports / lots of tv's place.  Otherwise straight down Euclid to east 4th as Murray Hill states are corner alley and flannery's both of which would be good options... otherwise you have to head towards the warehouse district which as stated earlier is a little further out of your way.

Huh, my brother played with Bob Golic at Notre Dame . . . never knew he had a bar.

just opened last fall...

Best bet for gay bar that'll have the draft on TV is Argos at West 25th and Lorain - right by the West Side Market and the West 25th rapid station. I'd call ahead just to be sure, but I'd imagine it would be open for that: http://www.club-argos.com/index2.html

I've been there - it's decent; it *was* rather surreal to be surrounded by a bunch of burly (looking) guys watching a Browns game and hearing "kick his @ss, Edwards!!!" and someone saying in reply "ooh, not too hard - that's a NICE @ss!!!". It was like a meathead sports bar meets the Birdcage :-D

ummm humm  sure.

Hamiltons closed a little bit ago, i never knew that was a gay bar though. Was pretty much empty the 3 times i was in there

Gay bar or before or after the theater bar.  Last time I was there was before a show and wouldnt have necessarily thought it was a gay bar (full of theater folks).

Hamiltons is gone and hardly a surprise - they employed the worst of the b!tchiest bartenders and while it's not a big deal if someone throws some attitude to some roadshow queens who are only in town for a week, it's another thing to do that sh!t to the locals, especially to those who run the G2H2 parties. Called that one a while ago.

Well on Saturday morning/afternoon I took a walk around Downtown & Warehouse District and did lunch at Bob Golic's.  Then I watched some of the draft at Argos.  Thanks everyone.  I went to the baseball game today and it was beautiful out and then drove home.
