Last weekend while I was walking around the new Huntington Park Stadium, I decided to take a few other photos around the Arena District on my way back up to High Street to catch the bus home. These are mostly taken from the roof decks of parking garages in the area. I'm by no means a professional photographer... just like to play around with the camera... and parking garage roofs are one of my favorite places to do that from. Enjoy!

The Arena District shows how a development should be constructed. Urban, realistic and beautiful. Not a bit of stucco in the shots!

I dig 'em!

Love that second to last shot of Front Street!

Some unique angles there! The Arena District looks great!

Really interesting shots.  I like those first two photos that show the Burnham Square Condos.  And those railroad shots are pretty neat too.  See how the line goes under the parking garage?

Awesome!!!  I love how clean the place looks.  I love the mixture of classic and modern architecture.  It's perfect.

I love those shots of the railroad tracks.  It seems like they are very easy to access.

Great photos!

Nice shots! They document the look of the area very well.

wow all that new stuff since i've lived there. you even took those from angles i had wondered about.

about the photos themselves -- if i didn't know better i would have sworn the first couple and some of the others were renderings. i think the sky background may have had something to do with that? some even almost seem to have the 'tilt-shift' effect. pretty cool!

Yeah the first and second photos look like they're of models of the city, not the actual city... crazy

Those photos show Columbus at its best!

Nice!  Hooray for random photos!

A bit too heavy on the office and commercial uses...more residential should have been included if you ask me.  People are what add life to cities and we need all the residential space we can get in our center cities.

Nice pictures though...I do enjoy the quality materials used in the Arena District buildings.

^There's more residential buildings than office and commercial and more are on the way.

^I remember there being residential in the area behind Nationwide and then down by the North Bank Condo Tower...outside the that the rest of the buildings across from Nationwide appeared to be all office, retail and entertainment uses.  Hopefully the additional residential you speak of will be coming for those surface lots in between Nationwide Arena and Huntington Bank Park.

This is the map I'm using as reference:

Above is a 2006 master plan/site map that I saved from the Arena District website.  It shows most of the residential projects in the district.  The blue hi-lighted building at Spring & Neil are the Condos at North Bank Park.  The two reddish hi-lighted buildings are the Burnham Square Condos next to the McFerson Commons Park and the Arena Crossing Apartments north of the arena.  One large residential condo project not hi-lighted on the map is the Buggyworks Condos.  The Buggyworks is located immediately west of the recently completed Huntington Park.

There are also some light gray buildings on this 2006 map which represent future buildings.  Some of these have been built, some have not.  I believe that the three light gray buildings located immediately south of the Burnham Square Condos are future residential buildings.

So, you're both right to a degree.  The Arena District is primarily focused on being an urban entertainment district with the arena, ballpark and the indoor/outdoor concert facility next to the ballpark.  Offices and retail were the next part of the district.  With the residential component continuing to be built as the district evolves.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :D

Arena Crossing, Buggyworks, North Bank Tower, and Burnham Square Condos are the examples I'm talking about.
