Posted April 30, 200916 yr Hello, I am moving to Cleveland for the summer for an internship and at the beginning of the summer, I am trying to become vegan. I was wondering what vegan dining options exist in the Cleveland area. Thanks :-D Laura
April 30, 200916 yr Tommy's on Coventry has a variety of vegetarian selections and some are vegan. Vegi-teranean, Chrissy Hynde's restaurant in Akron, is vegan. www.tommyscoventry.com/ www.thevegiterranean.com Edit, some other options: Melt (Lakewood) now offers vegan cheese. Treehugger's cafe (Berea) is vegetarian, may have some vegan-friendly items. Many Asian restaurants, as well as Indian, may have some items. You might try Seoul Hot Pot (Korean, downtown) and Udupi cafe (vegetarian Indian place, Parma Hts) for starters. Mustard Seed market in Montrose has a cafe that offers vegetarian and some vegan dishes. Aladdin's (various locations) should also have things that would work for a vegan diet.
April 30, 200916 yr two websites my vegan friend swears by. http://www.vegetarian-restaurants.net/usa/Cleveland-Vegetarian-Restaurants.htm http://veganincleveland.blogspot.com/
April 30, 200916 yr Vegan Cheese? What in hell kind of blasphemy is that? Vegan cheese is disgusting, IMHO. Back to the topic... Little Italy is pretty vegetarian/vegan friendly, all you have to do is make sure you don't get anyhting with cheese or meat sauce.
May 1, 200916 yr There are quite a few Lebanese/Arabic restaurants in the Lorain/W. 117th area. They should all have the standard selection of hummos/tabouli/baba etc.
